Just a suggestion - instead of taking Hwy 75 north into Sherman, we could take FM 121 east in Van Alstyne and then turn north on FM 2729 to Tom Bean, then take Hwy 11 north into Sherman. It would give us a more scenic route and keep us off the highway.

@ SilveradoTX

Just looked at the calendar and I assume you meant 9/7 not 10/7. 10/7 is a Monday.

Thanks, Marc. You would be correct.

I apologize on behalf of my brain; apparently it decided to jump an entire month.

And here's a revised route per augustus_01's suggestion. http://goo.gl/maps/vMHxg
I really didn't want to stay on 75 for that long. Thanks for mentioning the roads.

I'll try to be there. I get off work at 6:30am and get home around 7. What time do you want to meet up? My wife often rides behind me on my Sunday morning rides, but I'm not sure she has the 3 hours stamina this ride requires.

On a side note, a coworker convinced me I need to do some track days. First one I'm going to try to make is in College Station Sept. 2nd. After that it's Sept 21 in Decatur.

Here's to hoping I don't embarrass myself! I'm pretty sure I'll be the oldest dude there at 43.

I doubt either of those will happen. I've also talked to many guys much older than that who have done, or do, track days.
I've been back and forth on doing a track day for well over a year. Eventually I'll just have to do it.

I want to do one as well but not on my CR. If I finally decide to do one I'll pick up a cheap 600 that if I go down I won't really care.

I checked out FM 2729 today since I had not been on it for a while. It's a little rough with some shoddy patching, but as long as we take it easy we should be OK.

SilveradoTX, were you thinking about eating in the Plano or Sherman area?

I might take my XB someday, but I'd like to find another one, a Street Triple or an SV650.

Road condition sounds about like what I would imagine. Might have you take the lead since you'd be more familiar with the road.
As far as food, I figure that if we leave around 10am we should be in Sherman for lunchtime, correct me if I'm wrong. Entirely open to suggestions.

Augustus_01 or anybody else still up for a ride to Tioga this Saturday, 8/31?
I will be 2up and plan on stopping in the morning at the Starbucks on 78 by the Firewheel mall, we can meet and plan the route.
Open to any routes to Tioga, the more scenic the better, at least on the way there. Then plan the return route at lunch..

I won't be able to make it this weekend like I initially thought - wife has to work. Guess I'll have to wait until the 7th.

Anyone wanna go for a quick ride saturday morning? Im itchibg to ride but I wanna be home by 1:00-ish to watch my O-State cowboys hand it to Miss State on ABC.

I knew Labor weekend would be difficult to get a longer ride in, but we aren't traveling anywhere for the weekend.
Making an offer on a ranch today, it is right on the border of Nevada and Royse City, it is a rehab project though. Will be fun and hope it goes through.
