This one is a question for all of you northern folk or those that reside in places that are blessed to see more than two seasons. I was out riding today in a gloomy semi-damp southern Wisconsin November weather and I got to thinking about all of the people that call me crazy for braving the 40ish degree weather to get one last ride in before the snow flies. Am I really as crazy as people tell me or are there other Uly riders out there that brave the cold as well? Also, when do you decide to move the steed into the stable for the winter? I'd be all for riding all winter if my great state didn't dump salt and sand grit everywhere for the snow.

We get many upper 40 F sunny days through out the winter months, out numbered by sub 32 F. The salt is a huge obstacle, we have numerous government enteties that feel the need to use it or lose salt budgets require dropping salt upon forecast of inclimate weather. The biggest problem is at inersection, ecpxcess salt causes loss of traction and braking hazardous.

I'm in far northern illinois literally on the Wisconsin Illinois border and I rode the other day because I couldn't bare put my bike away for the winter yet. So you are not the only one haha

nice warm day :)

Shit I rode the other day at 15° I ride till there's to much ice on the road and start riding as soon as my path to work is clean enough to ride temperature is just a number.

"Winterize" is just another word for defeat! I ride year round down to -10C (15F). Just need the right gear, heated grips, some common sense, and some balls. No problems!

Lol you're not crazy at all. 40's is some good weather! I dont ride an uly but as long as there is no snow on the road, im on the bike.

Gonna be 52 here tomorrow. Will probably take Sleeping Buellie out one last time before she goes into hibernation for the winter.

you people make me sick! due to rampant CO2 emissions as well as the abhorrant and utterly futile burning of fossil fuels it now seems that many regions of the continental United States enjoy year-round Buell riding. When i was a toddler here in Tennessee we laid up our Kawi Triples and RD Yamahas at Thanksgiving. but no longer thanks to global warming. The end is near!

Ventured out today in western, pa 35 F, heated grips were great for the palms but my finger tips hurt upon return. Wearing padded synthetic gloves. The gloves are great 75% of the time. What are you " northerners" using to keep the digitss warm?

I use homemade gloves made with pair of press and seal Ziploc bags heavily coated with polyurethane which I filled with toilet paper and the blood of my enemies. Works like a charm.

For real though. I have a set of all leather "shooting" gloves with a set of liners. leather is always the go to for me in cold weather. Stops the wind. The cold I can handle. The wind.... Not so much. Well in conjunction with the cold anyways.

First off it takes balls to ride in sub 32 with saying that I ride in all weather fortunately this year my roommate lets me use his excursion 7.3 but last year I rode through two snow storms and was covered with a inch of ice don't want to do that again but my buell will go through anything I have thrown at it live Rhys bike like no other

I did about 150 miles yesterday heated grips and heated jacket in 41 f , did have a front wheel slip at one point but it was my fault just a pucker moment.

Was 14 degrees and sunny today. Rode for about ab hour until my fingers couldn't take any more. I need better gloves.
