I have an 04 Lightening and its grounded. Everything checks out fine. It was running fine just couple of days ago. I recharged the battery so it is good. All the fuses and relays are good. All the connection seem to be fine. All the lights work fine, too.

When I hit the "run switch" it makes that charging noize with the "check engine" lit for 4 seconds while the ECM is running diagnostics. After that cycle, when I hit the "start button" my baby just sits there doing nothing. I mean no noise what so ever.

Any help will be appreciated.[sad][sad]

Battery needs to be checked. Betting it needs replaced. Sometimes, when they're on the down-hill they have enough to run lights, etc. - but not enough to turn over the V-twin. Take it in to your local Auto Parts store and they'll check it under-load for Free.

^^^ What Steve said.

If the battery checks out, check grounds again, and chase wires from the switch for chaffing.

If that's all good, try putting the bike in first, rocking it forward (it'll rock the starter), and give it another shot.

If that did it, you probably have a bad spot on the starter

Do the starters on these bikes have issues? I'm having starting problems also. I'll start my own thread so as not to hijack.
