at least that newbie is researching old threads for info instead of flooding the forum with questions that have been asked so many times already...

JoeParkerJoe...use some sheetmetal (aluminum) to fab your plate mount, cheap and easy. you'll need two pieces of lumber, 2x4 or 3/4" plywood pieces at least 6" long, sandwich your aluminum between the lumber and place in a vise and bend to your liking. tip on bending the aluminum, bend along the grain of the material. for the light, remove the tail light lens, should have clear section on the lower portion of the lens. on the center tail piece, you can remove/notch a section out to allow the light through. place the plate mount just behind the notch to allow the plate to be lite up...this is if you decide to go that way...here is how it looks on my bike

No, don't get me wrong ! It's cool that the posts, even from 2008, are still actual ! Must have been one of the first to do that swap ! [up]

the shape of the rider to passenger transition seems to hold you in place better
This is one of the things I like about my Lightning, and disliked about my zx14. The 14 didn't have anything to help you stay on.
