So lets start at the beginning. I own a 2009 Buell Xb12Ss and just purchased a race can, K&N and race ECU. Installed everything did the TPS reset and it runs awsome! There is no more hesitation when leaving from a dead stop and it feel very strong all the way through the RPM range. There IS poping on high RPM decel but I think that is due to the ECU and the added fuel(Let me know if it should not be doing that). Now to the problem, When I installed the race can I did not notice the exhaust tip was resting against the tension pully, BIG problem. I did the TPS reset and took it for a spin. About a block from my house the bike dies, I restart put it in gear and it dies again. So I pull over and take a look, the belt is shredded ( due to the fact the pully is stuck, cooked the belt and it broke). So now I ordered a new belt and pully( pully because there is a HUGE gouge in it from the belt). I have a couple of questions I hope ya"ll can awnser for me.
1. I need to remove the pully that is connected to the motor to clean off all the old belt that is stuck between the pully and motor. Any tips of hints(torque specs for reinstall, lock-tite,ect...) or is it pretty strait forward?
2. Is there a shim or something I need so the muffler does not rest on the pully?
3. How to remove the rear tire? I will do a search in a little while, again just looking for tips and hints to make it easyer.
I can't think of anything else off the top of my head (at work now and wont be off till 5am) so anything you guys can throw at me would be great. Thanks in advance for the help.
