Living in the north east and riding year round, I read in owners manual to use heavier weight oil in colder Temps. Also during a routine oil check in beginning of winter noticed some chocolate milk on the edges of oil cap and dip stick. Normal condensation on interior of metal surfaces in colder climates according to owners manual. With the w10-40 oil the oil pressure light comes on when engine is running and stays on kinda seems to flicker along with rpms.
This is my first winter with my first buell, is this all normal?
The bike was missing the end caps that hold the hand guards in place. It's not a big deal but I would like to have them, anyone know where I can find them or a aftermarket replacement without buying whole new guards. The end caps I have viewed on the typical web sites don't have the peg to recieve the guards and are flush plugs. I included a screen shot of the parts list.
Thank y'all for any helpful advice.

Did you post and run or are you actually watching this for answers?
I wouldn't waste time posting something on here if I didn't want answers. I am following this thread and check back when I have the time. The Temps are warming up and I will be putting lighter weight oil in soon. The guards being all over the place is errksome and needs to be remedied.

Wonderful. Your answers:

Your "viscosity logic" is incorrect for air-cooled HD based engines. Generally speaking cooler temps warrant lighter viscosity...hotter temps warrant heavier viscosity. Your profile says NJ. 20W50 recommended year-round for your area.

END PLUG CAP PART # N0053.1AJ USED ON ALL XB MODELS WITH FACTORY HAND GUARDS. SYSTEM SHOWS LISTING NLA....SYSTEM SHOWS QTY 6---3 SETS AVAILABLE---DOES NOT LIST POSSIBLE STOCKING DEALER.

KNIGHT DESIGNS offers perfect upgraded replacement end cap for hand guard applications and 7/8" bars. Not cheap but top quality. Google them.

Perfectly functioning oil pressure switch only needs 4-6 PSI to extinguish. Multiple possibilities why yours is illuminated all of which should be investigated and resolved before riding any further which could result in serious engine damage.
