Ordering parts for Buell is a pain with local H-D dealerships. I am wondering if i can use an aftermarket oil filter for Ulysses, FRAM or Amsoil or Wix or whatever is easily available. Thanks!

Use the search tool and put in "oil filter" you will find TONS of threads on this topic. Those will answer any questin you have

TONS, exactly, takes forever to go through and get the answers. Still hoping someone can answer the original question please as well as may be tell me which filters are better and which I am better off staying away from.

onelogue - thank you for taking the time to reply to me. Have a great weekend!

Amsoil - I contacted my Amsoil supplier and he says Amsoil doesn't recommend their EAO09 filter for Toyota. I know Toyota and Buell are two different animals, but is there something wrong with these filters?

Thanks.

Walmart Supertech works fine. Cheap as chips. Change often, like every 2500 miles; also before putting your bike away for the winter if you do that, so old oil with water and crud in it doesn't get rust into your engine.
Purolator suggests on their web site not to use their "Pure One" filters on bikes.

You have forgotten one oil filter, the Scott's performance oil filter. It's a bit pricey at 135 bucks, but will last the life of the bike. Simply take it apart, clean it, and reinstall. Looks pretty trick too. I have it on my Buell and will be putting one on my Sprint ST.

Any body know the updated part number for AMSOIL oil filter for 09 city x? The site doesnt have the part numbers thats listed on this thread.

If I hadn't bought a few when my LD went out of business, I wouldn't hesitate to use the equivalent SuperTech, Wix, Pure One, or Mobil 1. I never have figured out why Purolator warns folks off using the filters on Motorcycles; I have one on another bike right now. Unless that's what caused the clutch slave to fail, [mad] it's working fine.

The Walmart filter is inexpensive and has better performance than most filters. You cannot go wrong.
The tech they use is better than most filters out there. I change every 2000 miles or yearly depending on how much crappy weather New York has. Ride safe.

STAY AWAY FROM FRAM FILTERS!
I've taken a few of them apart before and you'd be appalled by the CHEAP crap their made from.

I used WIX on my Buell because they were available locally and were reasonably priced ($6).
The Supertech is also a good filter and is available at Wally World, so pretty much everywhere. The only reason I don't use them is that I HATE supporting Walmart.

any filter that fits 2007 and up TOYOTA YARIS with 1.5 liter 4 cyl. fits. $2.97 at shit-mart. made by purolator. what's that? $16.50 less than the H-D filter made at same filter plant and painted differently? LOL
