today at around 5am i started my bike to let her warm up and after about four min. i came out to hop on her and thought i saw the oil light but it turned off so i started rolling back and it came back on then turned right off. so i started leaning my bike left to right and it would come on when i leaned a few times then it just stayed on. i checked the oil level and it was perfect, but im running 20-50 and its a brisk 34 degrees out... any thoughts>?

As far as I know the light is a oil pressure light, not an oil level light.
So if it comes on your not building pressure for some reason.
One could be your level is too low, or the oil might be still cold and thick in your case.

Make sure to check the bike after the Engine has run about 5 minutes. Let it sit a minute. It needs to be in the xxx cross hatch area of the oil stick. Make sure to clean the area around the Dip Stick before removing so the dirt doesnot get in the Tank. If your Engine hasn't made any horrible noises then Hopefully you are just low on oil. Change it at around 3'000/miles and use a good filter for your oil. Always prime- OR put a small amount of oil about 3/4 full let it soak it up for a couple of Minutes. Screw it on make sure to put a small amout on the Oil Filter Gasket pop it on snug. Never Torque the Oil OR Transmission Drain Plugs it can Strip out. Just Good and Snug will do! New O'rings are always a good Idea. Try to use Factory O'rings when possible. They are Cheap and worth having several Spares. Hope that is all it was. *Jimi

Thanks for the insight! It ended up being due to the cold weather. Later that day I got home and started it with no light
