First post so advance apologies if I come off like an idiot!
Had a kind of trifecta this weekend. On my '05 Lightning, my 9 month old battery died. Put in a new battery, changed my oil/filter and replaced my stock muffler with a Jardine slip-on. Now after I fired up the bike the oil light came on to stay. I put in 3 quarts of synthetic, with 2 1/2 in the swing-arm and the rest in the oil filter and the dip-stick says there's plenty.
The only other thing I can think of is that the Jardine muffler called for the removal of the servo-motor controlling the exhaust damper on the stock muffler. I unplugged the servo motor and am wondering if this is somehow tied into the oil light?
In the interest of full disclosure, I did have to disconnect the 3 oil lines that run under the bike, above the muffler as part of the muffler swap out, After the new muffler was installed they were re-connected.
Any thoughts?
