Yeah, I did it. Just being dumb. Recommendations? By the way, this is the bike with the intermittent miss. Thought I'd post a picture but I don't know how to upload a photo.

get a tap and try to chase the threads if that dosnt work install a timesert.this can be done without removing the engine or head.next time use a rubber hose on the end of the plug to start it and you will never crossthread another plug.

Good luck with the time certs. Kinda pricey and I couldn't find any in town only can get then online and have to buy the right tools for it. Oh and look up the XB engine rotation. Its pretty easy to do but its nice having a reference.

Slightly off topic, but i thought i would share this one, when i was 13 i had an old Triumph Tigercub 200cc chopped down for offroad..........anyway we had a problem starting the beast......take the plug out to give it a clean as it was gunked up.......my mate was quick to have it up and running an it was his time for a blast around the field on it......he cross threaded the head.........i was not a happy chappy....anyway his old man came up with a great idea??????? wrap some plumbing tape around the plug threads and loctite in...........seems ok.....anyway we push start his son off and the bike fires up and he flying down the track at full steam...........until an almighty BOOM!!!!!! (sounded like a 12 gauge shot) bike comes to a halt.....my mate rolling around in immense pain.........with a huge black welt on the inner side of his leg....I nearly died laughing even his old man was cracking up.........Ooh yeah Happy Days.........;)

Thanks for the help guys. I feel like an idiot. Had my trusty piece of tubing there on the bench, but got distracted and tried to install the plug on a wiggle extension.
