I started my bike up in the closed garage with open headers once.. Sounds like a top fuel v8 lol

So i was about to put the jardine back on, had to replace front rivets, and was wondering what to do with the quiet module insert that i had laying around, and i had a crazy idea.......pics below

It cost me about $5 and 5 minutes to throw on, i took it for a lil ride, and i was suprised how much it made a difference between open headers, it had almost as much power as the before with the jardine. Don't worry im not gonna run it like this because i dont have ECMSPY to retune my bike, however i do have the Dobeck TFI installed, maybe i will bring it to cycle-rama down the street and get it tuned properly...BTW im putting the jardine back on, i wouldnt want to hurt my baby...please feel free to criticize.. and it sounds WONDERFUL

Well... it's not that bad of an idea. If you extended it out the length of the regular pipe, you could probably keep it on with a minor fuel map rescale. I bet it sounds awesome!

Well i took ur advice, went next door and picked up a 12" extension, it now has pretty much the same power as the jardine, but much louder, as you would expect...do you think that the dobeck tfi can be adjust to accept this monster?

I don't understand all this "My bike is the loudest stuff!" I bought my bike to ride and ride hard. The last Thing I want to do is attrack law enforcement's attention. The reason so many places are banning motorcycles or Denver's EPA marked exhaust only law is a direct result of this. Straight pipes only hurt your performance. I currently live in Germany and a good portion of the great roads are restricted during weekends and holidays. Not because people are crashing, but the loud pipes on sportbikes. It is not far from happening in the States.

What about straight pipe with the end sort of clamped, kind of like a fish tail exhaust?
might hold some of the back pressure?

I am an Aviation Maintenence Technician/ Dropmaster/ Sensor System Technician/ Aircrew member. Basically, just fly it, break it, fix it and repeat..and if your lucky get launched on SAR.. and to think I almost joined the NAVY...

As for the bike, i plan on bringing it down the street to Cycle-Rama.com shop and get it retuned, it seems to run the same as the jardine, i adjusted the Dobeck TFI for a lil more fuel, but there is only one way to be sure..
