Stupid PA. I was about to volunteer, but decided to map it first. Your state is too big. I'm 25min from PA, but 5.5 hours from you. shenanigans.

The flash is easy, you should try it yourself. $20 wire and a laptop, then 10min to do it.
shenanigans. lol. where do i buy this mysterious cable?

Cable can be made, but also bought on ebay and other places. I think when I bought min on ebay it was ~$50 and came with a cd with ecmspy, the drivers needed to install it and get it to communicate to the bike's computer, and a bunch of maps for various buells.

Email sent. Let me know if you have any questions.
ok thanks will do!

fleebay. blah. ok ill give it a search. thanks!

Hey Zeroflat24/A Ready made to go Cable that is [new] and will work(wired properly)I mean, & you can get from [Xoptiinside.com]- You can get the drivers there also for free and the Cable will come ready to use. FleaBay is always a chance.(Opinion)
Have you checked the Engine running(idling) on your Bike till the fan comes on/?It should come on in about 4 to 5/minutes from cold start. If not check the wiring & start there. The Temperature Sender in the top rear of the Rocker Cover Controls the Fan. Could be just the fan or maybe something got dropped down in it and accidently overlooked, possibly jamming so spin the fan to see if it is oil free and freely working.
Figure it might be the sender or the fan. Check your Transmission Vent(air Hose) while you are at it. Now if you can/ Give your couple of Dollars to a Fellow Bueller and Tech.for the ECM Spy products.
This way you are sure when you plug in the Cable to the ECM Data Port Plug you Know that it is a Quality Product. All you need for Diagnousing your Bike is here the Forum is a Buellers Blessing. There is plenty of help so post up.Hope it is an easy fix.*Jimi

^my fan won't come for more like 20-30 minutes after cold start. I did it once waiting for the engine to reach proper temp to adjust the TPS. I actually don't even remember if the fan came on, I don't think it did, until I shut the bike off...

Snrusnak, have you used the maps with good results? Not sure who does them but I have used some for customers that got the Cable and such items from E-Bay. It did flash good and there are 2 customers last year that had bad luck with the products from FleaBay. Glad I had saved the information prior. If you have had good luck let me know and the correct person you ordered from .
Which years of bikes also.
I reworked the ECMs with my software and it ended up working great, but always willing to find other options that is fast and easier. The more the merrier when it comes to these bikes. They sent those Bad items back so thanks if you can send me some info.*Jimi

^yeah, the ecmspy, cable, and drivers all work fine. I've had them for probably over a year. The maps that were on the cd, some do not appear to be correct, they just don't make sense when looking at them (for example, more fuel at lower rpm's vs higher rpms). I have personally only used the race map to my bike (2005) but it worked fine. Most of the maps look fine, just a couple that look obviously wrong.

So my overheat/misfire light is a misfire light. The bike isn't overheating as far as I can tell. And the misfire is very small. It stumbles a bit trying to start and if you "blip" the throttle it will hiccup. It doesn't miss under a load at all while riding nor does it miss at idle. The question, what plugs can I use that I can find at a parts store? The NGK plugs I was recommended are no where to be found at any local parts stores for me. My bike has champions in it now....

I bought the dcpr9eix at orielly auto parts, they had to order them but came in next day. Cost around 6$. If your doing the plugs I'd do the wires too just to eliminate that as a cause also. I bought my wires at ironmachine.com. Shipping took a week or so but very quality wire.

I'm pretty sure those are the correct ones. The one's with the "8" in the part number are I think stock replacements. The "9"'s are one heat range cooler. I use the "9"'s and it runs better.
