Hey guys, I have an XB12r but have a buddy I ride with that has the '25r. Sometimes in stop and go traffic he gets pretty warm. Check this youTube vid. I know some or maybe even all of the newer Harley baggers use this same concept as a stock option.

thats pretty friggin cool. dont the xb's do that on there own if they over heat i thought ive read that they do somethin to try and prevent a total melt down?

thought so! hope i never get mine that hot... not alot of traffic around here plenty of heat(not now its 31) but not much traffic.

anrkizm ur like a walking buellcyclopedia!![up]

anrkizm: I have an '04 12r, and have ran it pretty hot in AZ, but never noticed if it cut out to prevent over heating. Is there a year/model cut off for that feature?

On the Baggers you roll the throttle forward to cut the rear cylinder off, is it the same concept on the XB or is it controlled another. GREAT INFO, Thanks!

rusty im no expert but im perdy sure its automatic. I think it will even stagger cyclinders if it gets hot enuff (like fire every other time) i cant remember where i read about that safety feature. Ive had mine in 95 degree humid weather @ 5 mile an hour cruisin @ a bike rally revin it up and every thing and never had it do it. It was even pinging when i would take of but no fuel cut. i think u've about got to cook the engine to make them do it.

its controlled by the ecm using info from the head temp sensor.not sure about cut off years but i know 08+ has it.you will also get a check engine light that will flash if the temp gets to high.you would be surprised how hot these engines can run.

this will give you an idea of normal operating temps.

Good to know. Love my Buell, and don't mind the sweaty ass it sometimes creates in the summer months. :p

there is a newer fan logic that turns fan on at speeds over 15 mph and at cooler temps.i have this on my bike and it helps alot.it comes programed in all newer ecms and buell race ecms.this could probably be done with ecmspy also.theoctopus would know for sure.rss also helps a ton too.

according to ebr only 08+ can get the new fan logic.... i asked b4 ordering my ebr ecm. dont know why fan on off temps cant be changed in the eeprom on 07- but thats what they told me. they're perdy smart guys and so's the octopus they'd be able to explain better

Prety sure ASB is the least expensive choice for a RSS unless you want to had over some cash to HD...
