My bike was had glossy black plastics, so I ended up painted them Flat black instead.

I also had an extra tank which i painted flat black, but left the lettering on it.... so now i can ride incognito, or buell proud.... which ever my mood is!

what do you think?

The bottom two pictures are before I painted the Bottom fairing flat black... the smaller top one shows that.

yea, i got some really fine grit sandpaper --- I will have to check the grit - but super super fine...

cleaned the plastics, sanded them, and just rattle canned it with some home depot flat black.

New paint job for under 8 bucks.

looks good! [up] I've always been a fan of flat colors, theres a guy around here that rides a flat blue R1 that looks pretty sick too.

I just painted my header wrap with some high temp header wrap paint. .... should have done it long ago - i was just too lazy. Looks great with it done.

Really dig the flat colors - black is bad-ass.

I will be interested to see how well the paint job holds up. Flat blue sounds so sexy. I wonder what the firebolt would look like with white and flat blue.

Once i get mine, i hope to do some flat black painting - i am thinking black with maybe some gloss gold accents or something like gloss burgandy or something to stand out a little bit.

I really like it man.

Always looks great at first, then it goes down the drain. Flat paint is porous and even the oils in your fingers will get stuck in it forever. Heard it from professional painters, better to just stick to something semi gloss for the long run.

It's true. Flat black seems like such a great idea at first. Then it just gets harder and harder to clean. Maybe if you keep up a super rigorous cleaning routine you'll be able to make it work?

I love flat black and have as well some parts painted that way. The bike looks great and straight... Q: what seat is this, love it.

painted my old firebolt black, with true fire and cleared with ppg interior soft touch clear. held up great for the two years, attracted and held dust like crazy, dont no wat looks like now tho
