I am trying to get a group buy for Pelacrash Protectors (frame sliders). I don't think I am stepping on any sponsor toes, as I know of no sponsors that sell frame sliders for the 1125.
I have had some email contact with Pelacrash. My latest email from them qoute a price of 86 Euros (approx $120). They informed me that they may be able to do a 20% discount of a purchase of 10 or more. I have inquired about shipping, but not yet heard back.
I have a couple of basic pics, but I am not clear on the method to attach them to the thread. Any shipping cost from the manufacturer would have to be split up and added, plus shipping to your house.
I would like to know if you are seriously interested at the discounted price if we can get enough members. I currently have 5 members on another forum interested.
I don't mind putting this together, but since I am located in Europe at an APO address, they will probably want to charge me the 19% VAT that applies to the European Union. I will see if I can work around that, but it may not be possible.
If this becomes too much of a hassle, I may just buy one for myself and install it and do a review.
My concern is that they appear to be made of steel with a hard plastic puck and mounted to the frame/engine mount. I am curious about the strength of steel perhaps transferring the crash energy to the frame/engine mount point, but then again, if that were to happen, the frame would probably get messed up anyway without the sliders. Your thoughts?
Let me know what you are think, via a firm yes, no, or possible.
I have posted this in several different boards to grow the numbers.
