I know there are a lot of variables but what is the pressure range for a penske on my ss? or a rough starting pressure? i guess i must weigh about 195 pounds in your language! I am not fat i am chunky! ha ha :D

I am absolutely no help to you on this question. I am assuming you are asking about a rear shock? Is the air pressure for a pre-load, adjustment? Air Spring???
Is this an emulsion shock and should there not be nitrogen in the shock instead of air? Nitrogen is what is in most emulsion shocks as well as a floating piston, I think for better consistency than air at a wider range of temperatures right? Sorry I am no help but curious as to why you need air pressure?

rc that should be my new user name chunky monkey! ha ha ha Tbone yeah sorry posted it late last night so was half aslleep its a penske 8300 i think with the remote reservoir and its the air pressure for the remote that i need, cant find the info that came with it at the moment! i can fiddle with the other settings after i get some air in there! Thanks :eagerness: As i am not valentino Rossi (close though lol) would nitrogen be needed or will air do? i really should know this by now eh! ha ha :stupid:

penske suspension division right up the road from me. called them a bit ago and lady on phone gave me link below. your shock is in there and everything you need to know about same. asked her re. your nitrogen question and response was normal filtered compressed air acceptable in remote reservoir shocks....nitrogen only in cavity style shocks. you can also click contact tab and ask them questions. hope that helps.

lunatic mate you are as always the main man! i really appreciate you going to the trouble to do that for me!! great i have a shock absorber pump with a built in gauge so that should do the job then! Once again cheers mate!! :eagerness:

Great info as always Lunatic. How hard is it for an average Joe to get Nitrogen?

thanks for the kind words. many tire shops have it....pepboys, etc. if you plan on using nitrogen from time to time get your hands on a tested and dated high pressure air tank like is used for small home mig-welders and have it filled at local welding supply outfit. they all have nitrogen.

my pleasure tone. penske is a fabulous corporation and many of its subsidiaries very near me. they are eager to help and provide advice via their website whenever possible. happy to be of help and thanks for the nice compliment.

We bought a used Penske triple for my wife's SV and had to order some mounting parts through Penske. Could not have been happier with them. Also, the shock has transformed the budget SV rear end into a perfectly controlled track monster.
