Hi everybody,

I'm Peter from Holland and I bought a 2002 xb9r firebolt yesterday! Here are some pics that the dealer made:

Right now it's getting a service. I got my insurance sorted today and immediatly ordered the Ermax Undertail in the color of the bike.
And if the dutch weather allows it I'm driving it home saturday!

I also want to paint the exhaust black and get smaller indicators at the front.

Anybody know some must-have mods?

Will post more pics soon.

congrats! nice ride. I dont know if you are a part of anyother forums, but this one is by far one of the best to be associated with; nice people, great comments, and very helpful! Good luck

Congratulations on the purchase! Welcome to the Buell family.

Hey good news, your bike is actually a 2003 not a 2002 [smirk], 2003 was the first year the Firebolt came out.

Post up pics on this thread when you make more mods like the under tail. How much is the Ermax undertail costing you?

Your next simple mod should be the removal of you belt guards. Just my opinion :)

This is not true, the first year for the XB9R was actually 2002.

Correct, very few 02 were built. Most were sent over seas as to my knowledge. North America didnt get them till 03 model year.

Awesome another dutchy! the bike looks familiar tho. Wasn't the bike for sold by Ten Kate?

Yeah It was for sale at Ten Kate Motoren!
Hope you weren't interested ;)

I bought the ermax undertail for 200 euro's but including two white "sharknose" tail lights and two white ermax indicators it came to a total of 317 euro's.

I would like to get something to protect it in case I crash it (seen that this is my first bike) but I have seen so many different options that I haven't figured out what I'm going to do yet.
Either frame pucks or a carbon frame cover. Does anyone know if they are just glued on or are the bolt on?

Frame pukes. In my opinion are worther they're weight in gold! Either 50usd for the pukes or 250usd for a new frame....

Oh and good lookin bike! I have an 03 9R that I've been in love with. Same colour. Those rims of yours really stand out!

The pucs are nice because they stick out a few inches and are only $50. They extend farther then the carbon fiber covers. And the pucs simply protect the frame more.

The carbon fiber look sweet. Down fall is if you crash they shatter and then you may still have a dent in the frame :(

My advise...go with the pucs as a new rider.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Thaloc, I was already wondering if that exhaust was stock because the sound was so monstrous! The day I looked at the bike I was blown away by the sound of it and when we went to look at ducati's after I felt like I was listening to a sewing machine.
I hope the exhaust is not to difficult to remove because I would like to paint it black.

Anyway I've been browsing the website of twins motorcycles and after all the recommendations I bought some frame pucks. I immediately invested in some small blinkers for the front.
As soon as I have more money I'm buying axle sliders and a rss.

And thanks DustyXB, I like the rims too!

Diggin the red on blue, look into some axle sliders too, the swing arm tends to take some of the damage in a low slide
