I guess painting it black is considered blasphemy! Can't do that.
I found these pictures of a xbr with it painted black and one of the exhaust like I wanted to paint it.

I definitely don't like the all black and the way I wanted to do it does indeed look like you want to make it resemble a stock exhaust.

It's just that my focus right now is riding it and painting sounds like minutes of work and polishing hours. While sanding it I'll take a look at the amount of work to polish. If it's doable I will try it and otherwise I'm painting it with heat resistant silver paint. That's the plan man.

Nice lookin' bike Peter.. My bike (XB9S) came with the factory race exhaust as well but unfortunately had surface rust all over it... I simply sandblasted and wire wheeled all the surface rust off and sprayed it with some flat black high heat paint.. That was almost 2 years ago and it still looks awesome! Either way you go (Polished or painted) the race exhaust is awesome.

Not really.......I just assumed it not so far gone to prevent polishing. If you want to paint it black then by all means do what makes you happy.........just remember its your bike. The plus side to painting it black is that it makes it look stock, and that may help if you have @$$hole cops where you live

I would recommend getting it powder coated black instead of painted, it will be a much more durable finish and most powder coaters will prep the pipe with a media blast if you ask, potentially preventing rust/corrosion.

Hey Jobe. Ill sell you my aluminum RT-1 exhaust for $200+ your stock exhaust. Lol

Pete. Personally i like it black with the silver tips. Id say paint it and polish the tips.

Do whatever you like Pete. Just my 2 cents. Sorry didnt mean to offend anyone. I just want a polished race exhaust. Maybe ill just send mine to Randy and get mine dipped in Platinum! Lol!

Powder coating is definitely the way to go of you decide to paint. Delta Doodie is right. Remember to polish the tips first!

Sorry didnt mean to offend anyone.

I beg to differ, you did mean to offend dusty and definitely meant to offend me.

but that's ok after reading your post I realize that I am the one who is a douche, I have been here for a year now so I should leave to per your recommendation.

cheers
