so let me get this right

the all new bike is the same all new bike from last year only black and stolen forks from the 1125?

sounds like an update not an all new bike to me

buell did it several times to the bikes without adding letters or making a crazy fuss over it
better belt drive
larger forks
oil pump
bottom end
injectors
ECM
bearings
brakes

but funny how the XB12S (or R) didn't become the XB12SRVXFT night
or for the R
XB12RVXRRZ race

but we all know its the Harley way
same shit different look, they have been doing it for generations, now I just set back and laugh. :D

A friend of mine bought one of these last year and we all went for a ride. He kept up with us in the twisties and had no problem in the straights. I'm not a cruiser type at all but i gave it a shot and it was a descent ride. I liked it better than the other cruisers i rode. He did have a Remus exhaust on it and it was nice sounding as well.

I as well am not a fan of harley or the mingers that showboat the brand but the xr1200 was nice to ride IMO. Don't worry it won't be long until harley cancels the project. :)

Not bad for what it is, a throw back to the 1970's. Decent ride but at 500 lbs it aint no XB.

A guy we ride with came out with us on one a few months ago when I was one my 675 Daytona and my girl was on my 984. He did OK, but even Melissa rode better in the twisties in my opinion. He could not keep up with me and my friend on his FZ1

Yeah, from what I understand from the dealer, they're cutting back the options on that model to just the one color and trim combo.

I sat on one Tuesday. Seating position was past "standard" to "semi-cruiser." Footpegs too far forward. But the shocking thing was that the bolt at the top of the triple tree looked like it was from the bin at the hardware or John Deere store. No level of refinement at all in the way the "cockpit" was finished. Meh.

My friend owns a 2005 fatboy, and all I have heard about is this bike, he won't shut the hell up! I offered my xb9sx, he won't give me a straight answer, I keep saying "Just ride my Buell". Hes a harley guy, and unfortunately hes proud of that.

"The XR1200™ motorcycle redefines Harley-Davidson performance with an authentic street machine for riders who dare to be different."

Wasn't Buell's slogan "Different in Every Sense"?

HD had a company that built bikes for riders who dare to be different and they shut it down. This bike is stupid.

I think its funny how every time they say they got a new model it's just an old model that comes in different color with a couple of new letters in the name. Whats the next one gonna be an XR1200P in pink that will pull some younger riders.

But the press put up a buncha hew and cry until they decided to sell it here. Remember: It was initially slated for Europe only sale. Beats me who it's really aimed at. I can't imagine that I'd ever swap the Ss for one, or replace it with one. Maybe it's for the existing H-D owner who suspects that there are bikes out there with actual handling.

boring as fuck

Well said.

nothing shows handling like dual spring over suspension in the year.. my fucking 70's enduro had that and it was cool too[down][down][down]

Its less powerful, heavier, and slower, but it is a good bike. Have any of you guys seen the XR1200 racing class? Riders are dragging knee on these things.

I've always been curious what the buell image would've been if they were putting out the same exact bike, but sold them under the Harley name instead of Buell and paid Erik to design them, instead of actually being in charge of the whole thing. I wonder what the riding crowd and image would be if they were just full on HD sportbikes painted black and orange and marketed as such.

Not bad "up" it does make u think

Not bad for a standard, but it doesn't fit the typical HD biker image. Can't picture too many old ass HD riders swinging their legs that high over to get on it.
Speaking of jokes, A Group Rider Course?? WTF? Do you really need a course to ride in a straight line?
