tailbag was way over priced for what you get. I'd hate to say....buts its a bike purse!!! lol....

The airbox plate is some scrap metal I had in the shop. Cut to fit and brushed. There are two sticks of ready rod attached from the bottom of the lower airbox cover and held by the two flush mount bolts on top. I want to cut out the pegasus logo in the metal and use a plexi to seal up the bare spots and light the airbox with some blue LED's wired to my park light switch. Just for shows and to impress....afterall i'm still a girl and like nice things.....lol

Nice mods! Very impressive!

I hate to say it, but IMO I think your breather reroute is kinda pointless. The dirty air is still being used. I understand your point in putting it up high, but inside the airbox?

Looks great though and I love your idea of the logo in plexi with LEDs behind. I <3 me some LEDs

the idea was to use cleaner air from outside. Because the air temp sensor is on the inside of the air filter and sealed up, the breather doesn't breath the hot air from the valve covers right onto the sensor. The main goal was so the air temp sensor would always get clean, cold air.

I may have been wrong. I was going by what my boyfriend had said but....he is a Triumph guy...
Pointless or not the little K&N is cool. (for future refrence...I did admit that I may have been wrong.....lol)

The K&N is very cool.

I've never heard or moving the MAF sensor before. Its going to read less air, so it will give it less fuel, making it run lean. Being how it's already running WAY lean from the new filter, even less fuel is not good at all. Also, moving the sensor will make tuning near impossible.

As for the filter, I have one on my bike as well, but it is mounted to the front of the oil cooler, so its out in the wind.

Doing mods are cool, but the trick is to do them right so you're doing good and not bad. That's why we're here on these forums, so we can help eachother out. :D

Tasha if you have some time, get some extra hose and remount that k&n breather up under the seat(where the subframe connects) and cap off the other end of the hose. That way you can still view it's coolness and it will be functional[cool]

you can see my blue breather here:

Dave,

She didn't move an MAF Sensor, she moved the breathers away from the Air Temp Sensor. She moved the breather outside the air filter but still in the air box so the heat from the head gases would not put such hot air right next to the air temp sensor, therefore allowing cooler air at the sensor.

With that being said, if you put 2 temp gauges in, one near the breather and one near the air temp sensor I'd be willing to bet there is no significant difference. The only way to get cooler air in there is through a ram air system or through a dry ice trap similar to what the use on the import cars with a cold air intake system.

Oh BTW nice ride Tasha.[up][up]

Gotcha, no big deal...

Tasha, hope you take this as a compliment. I think we can all agree on a couple things here.

Hot Bike,
Hot Mods,
Hot Girl,
Your man can't go wrong.[up]

thanks buell cru. I was going to try to explain that. I know its not as functional as it could be still in the air box. None of the sensors are being moved or played with. Anyway... will have to post pics of the new Rizoma rear set that I installed this weekend. Ran into a problem with the rear brake hose. Turns out its not long enough. So as soon as I get a longer one and finish I will post the pics.

Its been a while now since this was posted and I was wondering how it was working out for you having the Case breather mounted where you do?
I have a re-rout done similar to chase 12s and I am soooo tired of draining (or forgetting to drain) the line and the filter being soaked with oil after a few hundred miles.[sad]

hm, wierd...it shouldn't be a problem.

it was short by a hair. I didn't want to put unneeded stress on the line. For the couple of bucks for a new one was easier. I thought it was strange too. I even had a few friends take a look. Sure enough the line couldn't have been routed any different. I am going to post a pic probably tonight or tomorrow. Happy with the set so far. Nice ride position and love the fact that there can be adjusted so many ways. Once your happy with the position, thread lock is a must. That V-Twin rattle the bolt out on me once on the HWY. All of a sudden I had no shift ability. Had to limp the bike home in second.

Was wondering if anyone has tried or seen the h eaders wraped in red yet? I have a red 2009 lightning and was wanting to wrap in red. Just don't know if it would look weird in red.

u might be able to get away with normal wrap and some red high temp paint? maybe ill try it on my drag truck this weekend ill take any excuse to run it on the streets...;)

I just thought about something looking at your original pics that didn't hit me before. If I were you I would lift that gas tank vent line so if any gas does consume that line it drains back to the tank or completely out of the line to keep consistent venting during all operation.
