Hey Tasha-
Nice ride! The breather is fine where it is. I started out w/ mine that way. Then I buckled under pressure trying to get rid of the off-idle cough. Re-routed & NO change. You're right, that's the no-mess way to do it.

stayed up till 1 in the am last night doing the tail chop. Will have all the picks up by tomorrow.

On the breather reroute, this mod would seem to filter the breather emissions before they could get into the intake air, preventing oil or solids from needing to be "digested" by the engine. Seems like a net gain. I'd have to score one for the Triumph guy. :)

On the mixture, there's much talk in this forum in a multitude of threads about intake mods causing the bike to run leaner. I don't think that's generally true, since the computer adjusts the flow of fuel based on the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. It's been a long time since I was in chemistry class, but the last time I checked, mass flow of air plus mass flow of fuel determine the mixture. I don't doubt that power increases or runability improvements are possible with remaps of the computer, but it would seem to me that that is due to having different goals than the factory engineers (i.e. not worrying about emissions or fuel economy).
