So it looks like the collector bolts vanished and the collar slide down the pipe and it looks to be cracked. Anyone ever experience this before? Crappy cell pic but the crack is just above the collar

Is there a way to get the pipes out without rotating the motor? I am stumped, please help.

Easier to just drop the motor & use a 3/8 flex adapter for rear head studs.

That thread takes longer to read than just rotating the motor. You don't have to pull intake either. It's rubber, it flexes plenty to get header off. From air box, disconnect front VR bracket, 2 lateral supports & front head support from frame, motor will come down.

i got them out. Look much worse than i thought so i ordered a new set from American Sportbike. Now have to wait.....

I had a header do that on a high winding small block on the dyno one day! Talk about scaring the shit out of a guy!! :) (I know...not Buell related, but....?!)

Found a broke stud....the rear one that's a bitch to get to. Yeah that one, fuck!

looks easy to get to its right there in the picture:p at least you got time while your waiting for parts

I don't have the tools, skill or knowledge to fix this myself. FUCK, FUCK, FUCK!!!

I'll let you borrow a drill jig for this very purpose. How you get access to the stud is beyond me though.

Pulling the frame is not that big of a deal. I built a small motor jig to hold it up while the frame was off. It doesn't take all that long to get at it, just take your time and a lot of pics as you do it. If you're in the STL area, I could _possibly_ help with it.

I have been thinking, debating, studying all day and I think I am going to attempt to rotate the motor myself. Wish me luck....

Motor rotate is really pretty simple. As you lower the front of the motor just watch for any wires, connectors, hoses, etc. that might be getting pulled or smashed. Take your time and pay attention, you will be alright.

So I got it rotated

I am not convinced I can get a drill bit in there

Only thing I was not able to do was loosen there rear axle and remove the belt tensioner. The motor does not touch the front tire and I can completely remove the jack. If I remove the tensioner will it let the motor rotate more? I don't see it hung up on anything else.

you need to remove the tensioner or slip the belt off... I made the mistake of not doing that and it puts an ungodly amount of tension on the belt

Anyone who says they have drilled out this bolt is full of shit. Unless you have a 2 foot long drill but there is no way to get a drill any where close.
