I'll will be messing with this stuff over the next couple weeks. I was skeptical when my son told me about it. That is until he plasti-dipped the hood on his Neon SRT-4 about 2 months ago. It's holding up to the heat really well. There's no change since he did it. He's also done his wheels in it with the gloss.

I was impressed enough to talk a co-worker into letting me order some gun metal gray to do his entire car from DipYourCar.com. I'll be sure to post up some before and after pics.

I am actually going to try some of this plasti-dip stuff on my Silverado in the coming weeks. Thinking my emblems, bumpers, and rims.

We will see.

Theres a Buell for sale on Feebay thats been extensively plasti dipped,
Auction #221233477390 is that someone on here???

Most of you young laddies are way to young, so in the words of the wise men John George, Ringo and Paul,,, here's a song your mother should know.

Her neon mouth with the blinkers-off smile
Nothing but an electric sign
You could say she has an individual style
She's part of a colorful time

Secrecy of lady-chrome-covered clothes
You wear cause you have no other
But I suppose no one knows
You're my plastic fantastic lover

Her rattlin' cough never shuts off
Is nothin' but a used machine
Her aluminum finish, slightly diminished
Is the best I ever have seen

Cosmetic baby plugged into me
I'd never ever find another
I realize no one's wise
To my plastic fantastic lover

The electrical dust is starting to rust
Her trapezoid thermometer taste
All the red tape is mechanical rape
Of the TV program waste

Data control and IBM
Science is mankind's brother
But all I see is drainin' me
On my plastic fantastic lover.

Bless its Pointy little head

burton if you do your rims use 3x5 note cards and stick them between the rim and tire it will keep it off the tire and the best way to clean plasti dip is to use tire cleaner it makes it look new

I used the red, didn't like the color so I ripped it off! It doesn't hold up at on the heel guards, peeled off after my first ride. I did my swinger and it seems to be holding up well (about 3 rides on it). I bought the metalizer so I might try my air box before I paint this winter. That's really the only reason I bought it was to test off different colors for paint/Powdercoat.

plasti dip hold great in places that don't get rubbing or scratching.

my mate did his rims 9 months ago and they still look great.

my front fairing still looks great.

Makes sense. To me, that is what makes it great. You can constantly change the looks of your bike, truck, car, etc with different colors and different accents plasti-dipped. But I can see what you mean, for sure.

I still like it. It's affordable, too.

if you do your rims use 3x5 note cards and stick them between the rim and tire

Thanks for the tip man!
