I was out ridin with my friend Bob who also has a Buell today when an idiot decided to pull out in front of us. We just left a stoplight and went maybe 500ft when a lady in a minivan in the middle turn lane facing us turned left in our path. I was behind Bob and got on my brakes and downshifted but he tried to go left around her. I dont remember but she either stopped or he ran out of room and clipped the rear end at about 50mph. He was thrown over the handlebars and slid down the road for a few hundred feet. His bike was hit again by an oncoming car. He did have his helmet on but he is pretty banged up. Last update is hes awake and talking.
For everyone who has seasonal riding where they live just remember the bikes are just now coming out and the people in cars are still gettin used to seein us out. Please be safe and pay attention cause they arent. I just witnessed something I never wanted to see and hope to never see again. A firm reminder to always wear a helmet.
