So, I have an 07 XB12STT that I purchased a month ago from my local Harley dealer. The bike was used by the dealers race team and was never registered, and was supposed to have a full new bike warranty from my purchase date. I just talked to them today about a high idle issue and wanted to get them to look at it under warranty. The service lady told me the warranty expired last December on the bike. I was told when buying the bike by four employees (two sales guys, sales manager, finance lady) that it would have the full warranty, otherwise I would have just bought a different bike for less money from a private party.

Not really sure what to do or expect from this situation. What do you guys think?
[confused]

You should go back to those 4 guys/girls you had spoken with when you had purchased your bike. Tell them you need something in writting because you are having a hard time getting your bike serviced.

I just looked at my finance paperwork and it is marked as a NEW bike purchase.

I am going to have a little chat with them tomorrow.

If they still argue bring the bike back since I'm pretty sure your safe with it in writing.

This is another fine example of how "good" the communication is between Sales and Service at the dealerships.

Dokaman, I hope you can get things straightened out. That's a bunch of crap

Well, I just got some new paperwork in the mail today and it included an extended warranty plan for two years and unlimited milage. I am now curious if this covers the same as a new bike warranty or less.

At least at the moment they seem to be working this out.

Have a great 4th!
