Ordered and installed a Graves Motorsports rear brake return spring, Part Number BK039. Here is the LINK to the part I ordered.
Ordering from the website was easy- however I emailed them to confirm a part number and never received a response. I ordered it anyway since there doesn’t appear to be alternate part numbers available. Price is reasonable and shipping was prompt. Installation takes about 5 minutes, direct bolt on that requires no modification. Unit is adjustable once installed. I installed and left it with minimum spring compression but might experiment with different settings later. On my first ride after installing, I honestly did not notice a difference. Now that I have ridden some distance, I can understand its purpose and definitely notice the improvement. The spring tension gives the pedal a measured “feel” when applying the brakes. It is gradual resistance leading up to actual brake application, instead of the stock feeling “wood” sensation where there is no resistance in the pedal throw. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend to others. The kit arrives unpainted- the spring seat appears to be machined aluminum and the spring stainless steel. I used Daytona Yellow to paint the spring so it matches my other yellow springs.
Thanks to BuellXB member crxtasy169 for being the guinea pig on this one and posting up the info originally.
