WRX are awesome, but hardly anything as awesome as the new 5.0 HAHA !!!!

STi, maybe (i had an 05 STi and it was the most fun vehicle i have ever driven - like ever !!!).

New stock STi's are seeing less than 200hp on the dyno (center diff and heavier drive train power loss)

Here is my 2012 WRX after Stage 2

Oh and Congrats on the new car! Love the color. I'd love to run one.

nice car . Do you guys get factory superchargers on your coyote engines over there yet ? Had one of our FG Falcon GT's home from work a few times. 335kw off the showroom floor and 570nm torque from just over 2000rpm geeze its a hoot to drive.

Do the American market STi's not have turbo's or something? My old '94 WRX from yesteryear developed nearly 300bhp from some simple mods (flamebox delete, Magnex backbox, Blitz dump and some tuning). It was a turbo though :D

Nice looking car. I'm not a fan of large capacity engines though. Anything over 2ltr is a waste :)

All the new muscle cars and other sports cars(like the subaru's) are very impressive. Even trucks, my brother bought a 2011 Ram 1500 Express Hemi for like $22k brand new and it runs high 14's bone stock. Pretty good for a stock 5000lb truck. I know some other guys with intake/exhaust/tune/drag radials that run 13's with their hemi trucks and one guy high 12's. It's amazing you can take a low $20k dollar truck and put $1,000 into it and have a muscle car.

Sweet ride man, couldn't have picked a better color. Is it Azure Blue?

the color is Grabber Blue, like in the 70s:

I would like to do some stripes on mine, I personally like the white stripes better, but black does look nice:

Sick ride, I am super jealous. I am not a Ford guy, but the new Mustangs are sharp!

dave, my 05 STi made 220whp on a very tough dyno.

stock SRT4's would baaarely 200whp. more like 190ish.

but after i did my OTS Cobb Stage 2 and ebay exhaust, it made 282 and 290.

then, with a ProTune, it made 292hp and 305tq.

then with meth, it hit 323 and 340 on stock turbo.

and lastly with the 20G and DW750's i got 356 and 390 HAHA !!!

so that's the life of my STi.

and yes, i'd still take a 5.0 over any STi.....

Valve covers were leaking on my Mustang, so I pulled the covers and imagine my surprise,

and they are 1.73 ratio, dual sprung

i would suggest getting a Bama Tune and an intake.

those would be some good starter mods....

then a full exhaust.

should be knocking on 11's.....

I really want an intake and exhaust, and the white stripes.

Maybe over the winter while she is napping

Have to do some homework on which exhaust

Most likely end up with K&N intake

exactly what is a Bama Tune? new chip? reprogram ecm?

I'm sure superchips and diablo sport make tuners for the new 5.0 mustangs, I'd stick with something like that if you won't be doing any internal engine mods, they are easy plug and play, safe, and won't affect any warranty.

The superchips 93 tune on my ram adds IIRC like 61hp and 67lb ft (that's max, not peak). That's a HUGE increase for a couple hundred bucks, and it takes about 15 minutes to install or uninstall, plus all the other settings you can adjust with the tuner, read and clear obd codes, etc.

the Bama tune is one of the best mods you can do for the 5.0 - it's not a generic plug and play like DiabloSport or Superchips.

BUT, you can also go with the ever so popular Lund tune.

i would suggest getting the JLT CAI and some Kooks longtubes....easily 40-50whp after the tune....

Rob...congrats on the stang...it's a blast! I'm sure you will but definitely research the different tunes if you go that route, I know a lot of people were having problems with #8 cylinder issues. That might have just been early 11 models like mine though...never did anymore research after i sold it. Let me know if your ever free for a Quaker Steak bike night!

Greg

most intakes will get you the same gains - it's personal preference on which one you think looks better, is less expensive and fits better.
