Now the gold leaf doesn't go on exactly smooth but you can brush that out but use a soft small paint brush.

Thanks for the idea. I took my cover off, cut it out with the dremel, then painted my pulley with magenta pearl flake that changes color in the sunlight. I am still up in the air as to the color. I was hoping it would be more red. The retainer I painted gloss black. What do you guys think?

Both of those look really good, I'm about to start working on that myself. Glad to see other people have done it already.

I am actually thinking of cleaning up the pulley cover cutout a little bit to make it smoother. Also maybe repaint the outer ring more red and the nut black. Not sure yet. Still undecided.

Good thread [up]

Lots of good ideas in here, definitely thinking about powder-coating my pulley Amber/Gold to match my wheelset.

Taped it on the bike. Removed the cover, allen bolts, and the metal plate that prevents the nut from turning. Then masked and sprayed.

I am to lazy I like the Rizoma myself[up], Glad it didnt get messed up in the crash [smirk]

Ok so version 2.0. This time around I cleaned up my cuts on the pulley cover and painted the outer rim 2007 Dodge Charger Blaze Red Crystal Pearl Clearcoat (PRH). The inside rim and lockeplate I panted gloss black. The red is an ok match and fairly close. It looked pretty close from the tiny paint card held next to the rim but once I painted it there was a difference.

Here are a couple pictures. These were taking with my phone so the quality is poor.

Hey HOVERJOCKI, are you running without the stainless steel guard that goes behind the belt near the front pulley? Looks like its not there. Also, there's no threaded bolt sticking out of the inside of your swingarm pivot shaft. Did you take it out? I want to know cause my centre bolt in the pivot shaft is buggered up and was thinking of just running without the stainless guard. Does the belt rub on the engine case? Thanks, and great work on the cover!

Here is mine. Sorry I don't have a closer picture. Cut the center out, painted the locking plate red, pulley black, polished the bolts, and polished a thin ring around the. Pulley. Ill try to find a better pic later. (On the toilet )
