I have been wanting a firebolt for years and after my last accident i decided to get one. Im just curious a lot of people (mechanics and frieds) tell me that buell engines arent reliable and wont last me more than 20,000 miles with out giving me headaches. I was wondering if i could get your guys imput on the bike?

Maybe for them b/c they don't take care, or service thier bikes like they should. Just like any motor, if you don't care of it then it will **** out on you. My buddy has a 05 xb12r with over 120,000 and he has ridden it hard but takes car of it and fixes what it needs.

They are really good bikes.

oww ok. hey but how often do you have to change the belt and how well does the coling system work? i live in florida and i would hate to own a bike that is constantly overheating :D

They are AIR and oil cooled. you will not have a problem with getting to hot.

P.S. I have 19,000 and have had not one problem with my bike. XB9R

Well depends on who you talk to. But I donn't think you can go wrong either way. Both have lots of torgue and power. Good Luck

Buells were designed to be a dependable and easily maintanable bike so if it doesn't last chances are it was not taken care of ruining the bike.

HD recomends that you change the belt every 25,000 miles I believe. I may be 20,000. either way it's alot better than the chain hassle of service, oiling it and such
