Ok, so I am new on here and trying to sell my husbands 04 firebolt. I don't know much about the bike. Only know he's ridden it 1,000 miles in the past 3 years and is just sitting in our garage (actually my brother's garage now b/c he is trying to sell it for us).... does anyone have any suggestions on selling? pricing? any help would be appreciated...

What condition is it in?are there any modifications or is it stock?
Pics help alot.[up]

Just one pic. maybe one of the problems... total miles 8,600. We are in Ann Arbor, MI, but the bike is located in Lake Orion right now.

I would suggest taking some pics if you can, find out if there are any aftermarket parts on it, find out if any modifications were done and of course total mileage and your location...

hope that helps
:)

good luck, not that you'll need it, our beloved Buells are part of motorcycle history ;)

It's in excellent condition. A couple superficial scratches, like where you would lay your stomach on to ride the bike. To my knowledge this bike has never been laid down. I know we are the 3rd owners and the person before us also kept the bike in prestine condition. I want to say the muffler might be upgraded and I'm pretty sure we have the stock parts - just would need to locate them. Also have a pack that goes on the back seat with a zipper for storage... as you can see I'm not too well versed in all the "bike lingo"

looks like it has a Buell Race exhaust on it, thats easily worth $400

maybe one of our members who would be local to the bike can check it out for you and provide you with more info...

xtremelow you reading this bro?

Other non-stock things I spy are frame pucks, axle sliders, and possibly integrated tail light

Ok. I am going to have my brother take more pics and check to see if I can find the box with the stock items in it... keeping my figers crossed to sell it soon! Thanks a ton!

Can you include a pic of the pack for the back seat? I might be interested if you'd consider selling it separately, depending on the model.

Kelly Blue Book says that $3725 would be fair sum for this bike in stock attire. The race pipe and other mods may increase this price. This is what a dealer would reasonable sell this bike for, used, off the showroom floor.

ctmallam - yes, he knows ;-) lol. we just had a daughter in sept. that combined with not having time to even ride the bike helped him decide it was time to sell.

BR - thanks. I thought our price might be a little high, but have been keeping an eye on others w/similar miles... so, with the upgrades I'm thinking about $4500 would be a good price for this bike...

Hummer - yes, my brother has the pack I will have him take a pic and send it to me and will post here.

unfortunately with the closing of buell the prices fluctuate wildly for used XB's
I have seen similar bikes with similar millage go for anything between 3,500 and 4,500 some even set for sale still at 3,800 with more upgrades than that (race suspension).
not saying that it isn't worth 4,500 or that you cant get it just stating the market right now. the bike is VERY clean and modestly modded.

the other problem is that add-ons do no always equate to added value, if your prospective buyer does not want or is uninterested in the upgrades you have installed they will not be inclined to pay for them.
a race exhaust can easily go for 400 in clean condition but may only add 100-200 while on the bike. so to make the best dollar amount for the bike it would be best to return it to stock and sell the upgrades separately.
but fortunately a race exhaust is very popular not to loud and produces decent gains so there are a lot of buyers that would be interested in that piece but not all.

I am in Grand Rapids if you need any help I would be glad to see what I can do.

upgrades that i can see just from the pics include Integrated tail, axle sliders, right side scoop, race can and steering stabilizer.

I don't think frame pucks were standard yet as well as the front blinkers are LED and the oil filter looks like either a reusable or a cover installed on a standard.

and if it has the race kit not just the can it also has a filter and race ECM
