Thanks for the pics NW, I really don't like where the horn is stock lol. Going to work on it tonight to try and hide it. As for the grommet on the intake, I was afraid the filter was going to hit the sensor so I didn't drill it out enough for it. If it starts causing me problems I'll just go ahead and drill it out to use the grommet. Also I order my carbon fiber tank accents from MDI this morning and my new chain roller from ASB. If I'm lucky they'll be here saturday, but most likely looking at monday or tuesday. Pics will follow with installs.

I want some tank accents.. Let me know how you like the quality of the MDI ones. The ASB ones are excellent quality but I am a baller on a budget!

I'll let you know how they are. I read some reviews online and people say for the price you can't beat them. But as always, money is an issue and I too am a baller on a budget lol.

So its been awhile but I've been getting little things done here and there. I received my chain roller yesterday and got around to putting it on tonight. It definitely sits the chain up higher from the swingarm so that makes me feel better. One thing I did noticed is the mounting bolts supplied with the ASB roller were not the same as the old ones, they were a little short so I used the old ones with new hardware. Here's some pics.

After ordering the tank panels from MDI I got an email from their customer support telling me they were on back order for 2 weeks and asked if I was still interested in waiting, they said if not they'd refund me completely. They also credited my purchase with the $10 promotional code I had forgot to enter when I ordered them. So besides the wait, everything is pretty good with them so far. Once I receive them I'll get some pics.

hey redstripe! Get some pics ASAP on those carbon MDI parts when you get them. Im interested in parts from them too put I want to have a better idea of quality and fit and finish befor I drop that kind of cash on body work. GOOD LOOKING BIKE TOO!!!!

Thanks merlin, and I'll get some pics as soon as I get them. It'll probably be around the week of Feb. 6th when I receive them. Got the day of tomorrow so I'm going to relocate my horn and possibally go for a short ride since its suppose to be in the upper 40's here and sunny. All in all I'm happy with how she is looking. I'm also still waiting for it to warm up a little bit more so I can wrap my pipes and tune my bike with the forcewinder on it. But I'll keep it updated as things come in/get finished.

Time for a little update. This weekend I was a little productive, I relocated my horn; Thanks Nw for the tip, and I also sanded down some of the old paint the previous owner had put on the tail. Here's some pics.

I'm now looking for the paint code to match my bike, anyone know of the top of their head what it might be? The paint before was obviously too dark but I liked the concept of painting it to match. I also got a chance to take her out twice this weekend and she ran pretty good with not being tuned for the forcewinder, hardly any popping on decel and the power seemed smooth an dead on. Once it warms up I'll get ecmspy on there and dial it in. That's all for now, I'll keep updating as things progress.

Alright got a little problem on my hands at the moment. I rode in to work this morning and everything was fine and even went on a lunch ride around the city. On my way home I was riding and something flew off my bike and hit me in the leg, it didn't hit me hard but still kind of freaked me out cause anything coming off of your bike is usually never good. I got home and was looking at my bike and noticed that my new roller I ordered from ASB was what had flew off. The bracket and everything is still there but the rubber roller is totally gone. The thing didn't even have 100 miles on it and this happened, it also doesn't sit well with me that I spent $80 on it. I'm going to send them and email and see what they can do. Here's a pic of what it looks like now.

To say the least I'm happy nothing bad happened and I made it home ok, but I'm a little displeased with this roller flying off. I'll update once I hear back from ASB.

Time for a little update. Today I received my new roller from ASB, they were pretty understanding and sent me a new one 2nd day air so big [up] to them for the excellent customer service. Also received a tracking number from MDI-Carbon Fiber today so my panels should be here at the end of the week maybe beginning of next week. On another note, took my bike out this weekend since the weather was nice and she ran like a charm. Still a few things to tweak/adjust but all in all she is ready to rip up the streets. But once the panels come in I'll get some pic's.

Are you painting the entire tail section (the Chrome) or just the cut-out. The chrome tail is the only thing I don't like about the bike, other than that she is a beaut. Glad to hear ASB backed up their products!

I'm just painting the cut-out parts that were previously painted, the paint looked like shit so I did away with it. Still need to get the paint code to match the rest of the bike. An yea, ASB really pleased me with sending me another one so fast. [up]

Alright, have some updates. Received my panels from MDI and they look pretty good for the price. They're not pre-drilled so I'm going to take care of that when I get the time. Quality also looks pretty good. Here's some pics.

Not perfect, but I'm pretty satisfied with them. This weekend I'm going to order my new throttle cables and if weather permits try and wrap my pipes. That's all for now.

What dont you like about them?
I just took all the ugly plastic off my subframe
and am thinking about getting the undertail piece from MDI.
I really want the Banke undertail but I cant get word back from them if they are still making them or not?.

They didn't come pre-drilled; which isn't that big of a deal, but they don't fit exactly as they should. It takes a little flexing to get them to fit properly. But for the price they're acceptable. I just didn't have $300 bucks to throw around for the ASB ones or I would have went with them. If your thinking about ordering the undertail from them there might be a 2 week wait like there was from mine but they let me know when I ordered them.

I gave alot of thought on it today after I got word back from Banke that they no longer make one, so I ordered a fiberglass undertail from Airtech, has the same shape as the one from MDI and ASB, but is fiberglass/paintable and only 115 bucks. I just dont think I want a high dollar piece of carbon fiber under there that is going to get beat with road debris because I plan on running without my tire hugger fender.

Thats to bad the MDI pieces fit only so so, if you go to the website they talk like their stuff is just simply the best. Im not sure what Im going to do with the rest of my bodywork yet? Maybe just paint it for this year?

I hear you on the undertail piece, that's why I didn't bother with one. Your also right about MDI and their website, they talk it up like they're pieces fit perfectly... But for the price I can make them work, but I doubt I'll buy any other pieces from them. Although their customer service was good [up].

Paint and go, our bikes (My opinion) look pretty good from the factory minus the ugly air box cover, tire hugger, license plate bracket, and the left side air scoop. Personally I don't need anything flashy or top notch, just as long as its clean and runs good I'm happy with that.

Ya I think these bikes are pretty sexy with all the plastic crap removed. Id leave my body work alone but Im not a fan of yellow. Plus my riding jacket is black and orange (bought it back in 2000 to match my CBR at the time) I think thats gonna be horrible to look at LOL. So I think Ill just paint over it for now.
