I love having a phone and mount on my bike. I use it for GPS mostly. I bluetooth music and GPS directions right into my helmet with a Sena attached, and yes I can talk on the phone if I want to. I can even make phone calls hands free. I don't talk on the phone to gab, but its nice to have for emergencies and long rides.

I've only got experience with a couple of different phone mounts, but make sure whatever clamps your phone to the mount doesn't interfere with the buttons on your phone. I had one mount that was hard to get my iPhone mounted securely without pushing in the two buttons on the left side of the phone.

I'm new here and could post some photos of what I've done. I purchased a Ram Mount ball that screws into the threaded left mirror hole: https://www.amazon.com/RAM-Mounts-RAM-B-349-Pitch-Thread/dp/B0036G97DG. You just pop off the plastic plug and screw the ball in.

Hi Tom,

I have an IPhone 8, and it just clears the windscreen steering lock-to-lock. One of the recent changes I made, was to get the extended arm between the 11mm ball mount and the X-Mount phone holder. That allows the phone even more clearance.

I bought a hard running case for my iphone on eBay that came with an adjustable velcro strap. I had another velcro strap and ran them both through the clip on the back of the hard case and ran those velcro straps around the triple clamp
