The stator is sealed in the engine case.
LEDs are not the solution it make to much power and over heats.
rotax is part of the problem I think apilla has issues to but no where near what the buell does.
I was thinking a external heat sink.
But this is the second time this bikes let me down for good ridding here in nc.
Actually if someone could figure out oil squirters/cooling jets to spray on the stator would be ideal. The problem from what I have heard from the powertrain/engineering group is the top side of the stator is what overheats. If we could figure out how to keep oil on the top side of that stator, similar to what they do with piston cooling jets by spraying the bottom of the piston. My two cents....
or you could get an '08 stator with the right mounting parts. That should fix the issue. I know a guy who is contemplating on getting them as his '09 CR has crapped out 3 times now. This last time was only 900 miles after it was replaced previously. Luckily his is still under warranty, but it is still a pain in the A$$ I know.
