I just acquired this 2003 Buell Lightning XB9S. The first thing I did was remove the black original plastics and add the carbon fiber from American Sport bike in California. The guy I got if from said it has a Drummer exhaust but I have doubts about this. The exhaust looks stock to me, but I'm not up to date on the Buells - yet!

Can you all enlighten me as to the exhaust on my Buell?

For some reason the photo doesn't work unless you click on it.

Welcome , I have an 06 xb9s and I love it, I think I like it better than my 1125. Not sure abut the exhaust.

While I have never seen a drummer that looked like that it also looks like something has been done to the stock pipe because it the exit whole is on the wrong side and it has been at least painted as well.

Welcome to the Buell family! I was also gonna say it looks like a stock can that someone has added another outlet to the opposite side then painted silver.

Here's the strange part, the exhaust exits on BOTH sides!! is that possibly a homemade mod?

Left side - notice the exhaust port

the race exhaust exits out back corner... kind of the back and the side, but angles backward... it may be the race can just slightly modded. see my old race can on my old firebolt

but yeah, looks more like a modded stocker though

looks to be a modified stock exhaust with the
(left side) outer exhaust tip cover removed so he could get a close match to the add on (modded) other side exhaust tip , that has been painted or polished, . post a few close up pics of it from both sides , from the distance it looks almost photoshoped

Welcome, nice bike but take the HaDavidson sticker off. HaDa closed Buell and they shall rot in hell for this.

It does look like modded stock muffler. By the way that mod looks preety not bad. I like that as well as those small turn signals.

Nice Bike!

I just added the 0 degree Crossroads Bars from American Sport Bike. The hardest part of the install was the rerouting of the clutch cable - and then I realized it worked better without rerouting it!!! So it was back to square one! Anyway, after a bunch of poking and pulling, they mounted without any rerouting at all and work GREAT! The riding position is MUCH better! I highly recommend them to any Buell rider.

Thanks to Al and Joanne of American Sport Bike!!

Oh and although I use Photoshop daily, the photo isn't altered.
