Removing Headlight Bezels

I broke one of my headlight bezels a long time ago, and am finally getting around to putting on replacements. However, I can't seem to get the old ones off cleanly. Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve buying a new fairing? Heat? Hot water? GooGone? Paint Thinner?

Heat gun workd the best, there is two small pieces of 3m double sided tape holding them on. Heat them up and pull them out by hand.

Is this for the R? I just bought an '03 XB9R and noticed one of the bezels is cracked, and both of them are pretty weathered, would like to take them off and repaint them. Was trying to figure out how the heck they were held on, couldn't see anything from the back side, good to know... [up]
