I just had the 10k maintenance done on my 04' XB12r and before the service I didn't have this problem. When coming to a stop after cruising, usually ~2700rpm, and coming to a stop my idle will stick at 2000rpm, pretty much exactly, and wont come down unless I force it to by engaging the clutch and slowing the engine down. Sometimes it will go down by itself by very very very slowly, after sticking at 2000rpm. Upon start it idles nicely at ~1000-1050rpm. I'm thinking it's running weird from after the service and probably just needs to be tuned. Any input?

Thanks!

Idle needs to be set as close to 950 RPM as you can after bike is at full operating temp. Also, lube your throttle cable.

I agree with Steve, (I know, not that anyone cares.) I just had the same thing happen to me, I didn't give my bike enough time to warm up when doing my TPS reset and I experience exactly what you are.. I did another TPS reset and then readjusted the idle and everything went back to normal, but I'm not sure if you have to do a full reset just to bring the idle down...

Idle should be between 1050 and 1150 that's what I was told/ owners manual states/ tsp reset instruction video

Mine would hang at 2200 if I set it to 1100. Currently it is set to 950 without any problems.

If you adjust idle 1050-1150 per manual - you will have hanging idle just like Pegasus was experiencing.
That's just how it is on DDFI & DDFI2.

So I should just try a tune and adjusting the idle to around 950rpm? I'll try it and let you guys know how it turns out...

In case you missed it, whenever you do a TPS reset, Idle adjustment, etc. - always take a short ride and get the motor up to normal operating temps first.

Thanks Stevenc150! I did adjust the idle after I warmed the bike up. I gave it a little counter clock-wise turn, and then boom! It's idling beautifully bouncing around 950-1000rpm. I'll be riding to work tomorrow and I'll see if it still sticks at 2000rpm.

Well, fuck. I adjusted the idle too low. After work I adjusted it again and it seemed perfect. It hasn't stuck again but sometimes the engine seems too slow on start up. I'm thinking a TPS reset is in order. I'll be able to do that tomorrow as well as my first data log.

I see that this post was in March and it is May now. However, Pegasus I would like to know how things turned out for you. If you have gotten the problem fixed, what did you do? I am currently experiencing the same problem, after, a TPS reset. But I have an 03 XB9R. Thanks!

If tps reset doesnt work, look for vaccume leak. Mine did this and it turned out to be a rubber plug missing on the intake manifold. I think the plug covers a piece used for testing. Can also cause an overheat problem.

Not trying to thread jack.. But lately (past week or 2) I have noticed the bike kinda sluggish as im slowing down to a stop, it doesnt stick at any RPMs.. just kinda sluggish sounding, and little more vibration then normal. Was thinking maybe needed some tuning.. but after reading this, wondering if this is something I should try?
