Last weekend I was riding along the 405 south merging onto the 10 east (fwy's in CA) when I notice a distinct sound, a pack of bikers flying by (jap bikes of course).

So I thought what the heck, why not. I catch up to them and fall back behind their pack. It had to be about 12-16 bikes in their pack. They all started to look back at me, not sure if they were looking to see who this new biker was at the rear of their pack, or because of the kind of bike I was on, (05 XB9SX) and possibly because they've never seen one before.

So here we are flying up the fwy at over 100mph, when one of "THEM" pops up a standing wheelie directly in front of me, scared the crap out of me. The wind was blowing pretty darn hard, and he was kind of as it appeared, struggling to keep the bike balanced.

I jumped over 2 lanes as this "GENIUS" rode out the wheelie at over 100mph.

Call me a "PU$$Y" but I just don't have big cojones. What do you guys think of yourself or people pulling off "STUNTS" like that?

I don't care much for that kind of thing... I used to ride with a group like that..... kinda reminded me of an unorganized circus act, to each there own I guess.

I now choose the guys I ride with very carefully.... I've seen way too many people get effected by other peoples stupidity...

How about getting rear ended at a red light by another rider tryin' to pull off a stoppie at about 35km/h into your tail section!! Not cool...

Because they haven't ate ashault.....YET! I know how to do it I just dont, I get people wanting me to do a wheelie all the time. I put my hand out jestering to pay first, or at lights I tell them "you smoke ur tires i'll stand it up if I get popped so are you!":p

I've seen a guy do that on a GSXR 1000 on the 405N at about 110mph RIGHT BY a CHP!! It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! The chippy just stood there dumbfounded as his ticketbook fluttered in the wind. The best part was I was a few lanes over egging him on doing the same speed.

I was cruisin up the I-10 (In Arizona) on my Air bagged Electra Glide when I dude ridin a R1 rocked a wheelie at 100+. 2 miles down the road he was pulled over and in handcuffs.

Loved it

Personally I think stunts are left to the parking lots and closed roads, not open freeways and the such, but to wheelie by a CHP at 110, awesome! :D

that always amazed me....would love to learn how to do a average wheelie for 30 40 yards...dont wont to learn it on my bike of course...there cool as hell and amazing...

Yeah, I've also seen someone on a bike doing easily 120+ (I know this because I was in my car doing 100 even and he FLEW by me) on the 5 north highway near the Disneyland exit just pass the 91 when out of nowhere a chippy comes along side of this guy, CHP didn't even pay me and a couple other cars any mind as we were obviously speeding. The guy looks back, saw there was no traffic ahead for him to escape, and slowed down to pull over.

We're talking about an automatic free ride to jail, with a **** load a fines once they set you free. Not cool [down]

pullin off a balanced wheelie at under 10mph is not easy. been practicin my self , the other week i was at the lot and i gave it a lil too much gas on a clutch up and i scraped my tail got scared and jumped off lol. it was cool seein my bike fall over then bouce back up lol.

Well this is exactly why I haven't tried to pull off any wheelies myself. I'll just look in amazement when I see others doing it.

I have a favorite saying,

I love my life more than my bike

Yeah I have to say, I live in a very small town in east bumf^ck no where and dont hardly ever see cops unless on the highway... so we screw around at low speeds on back roads just like the other night when my friend lost it.

screwing off in traffic... not cool if you are up to risking your own life it is one thing but when other innocent people are around keep the rubber down and within reasonble speed. that is how I feel about it

I really hate the guys that feel they have to do that in a group ride, when they're in the middle of the pack. My buddy had his brand new '08 CBR 1000 maybe just a couple of months, when some idiot popped a wheelie up in the middle of the pack and then came back down on my friend's tail section. Needless to say, that guy is still telling my friend that he's gonna get him new plastics. My friend said he saw the guy's headers and front tire comimg down on him in his rearview mirror but couldn't do anything about it. I guess he just couldn't believe that he saw what he did.

So moral is, if you're gonna do that ****, do it on a closed street or parking lot and not in a group ride. I also strongly believe that "if you're brave enough to stand your bike up, you can't get made when you lay it down."
