It's spring time, nice temp to ride but rain catches you one way or another... When the rain catches me, i find myself constantly wiping the faceshield to get a clearview and it takes away the left hand from the controls and i am tired of doing that... it sounds like an accident waiting to happen... to mitigate the circumstance, i would like to apply the "car windshield treatment" like Rain-X on my clear faceshield. Has anyone among you have the same problem and what was your solution?

That seems like a good idea. It never bothered me too much to wipe the face shield every once in a while. I find the water normally wicks off anyway at speed.

I avoid the rain if at all possible because I hate the cagers and their road spray. I put RainX on my sheild inside and out and it has worked great. The water rolls right off before it can really distract you. Used the rainX no fog on the inside.[up]

What im rocking ..... ahaha

^^ That is precious :D

Rain-x is overkill. I just use some of my car/spray and mist polish. Spray it on and wipe it off. Really any polish wil work. Generally a sheild doesn't fog for long unless it is dirty.

Plexus is a great cleaner and helps with rain.
Works good on all plastic so I buy the big can and use it on the bike too.

DO NOT USE RAIN -EX . I tried the no fog . Huge mistake . I tried that before , and on a damp night along a curvey road my shield fogged so bad , it was like riding with my eyes closed . I clean shield works best . It may work for some I will not use it again .

You obviously haven't ridden in the north Texas humidity !
Haha That's a good one. Actually I live in Tulsa,OK where the humidty is just as bad if not worse. But I do feel your pain because we both know how quickly things change with Mother Nature around here. My sheild does briefly fog over sometimes but quickly clears after I ride a mile with the sheild slightly open [up]

I actually enjoy riding in a summer rain, cold rain is a little hard to concentrate sometimes. But I also just turn my head when I cant see and no worries.

I live in Washington and just use fog city liners inside the visor and regular car wax on the outside, works great!

I try to avoid riding in the rain as much as possible, but I find that I feel like pigpen from the peanuts cartoon strip, even when he gets clean once outside dirt is attracted to him,I am the same in a way, even if it is sunny if I pull my bike out dark clouds start to gather around me,but when I do get out in the rain I just wipe my shield off with my hand.:D

i put a spray wax on my shield makes the water bead up then turn ur head a lil one way the the other the wind will blow the beads of water away

Not to thread jack but can you ride in the rain if you have the crank case breather re-route mod??

And as for the ?, i just turn my head, same as some of the others.

I have no issues at all with this.

And depending on if its mist and doesnt bead up enough then i wipe with my hand but if its rain i just turn to the side since i use plexus too it works wonders.

I have never really had this problem with my Buell as there is not protection and it constantly blows away. I never thought of turning my head to release the build up but I instinctively do as I am scanning for dumb cagers and other potential hazards.

Good to go as long as you install the mod correctly as it would be very hard for rain to fight gravity and run upwards ;)
