Looking to buy textile pants,Every article I read how good or bad they are only picks high end pants that are $500.00.What are you guys wearing and what do you rate them. Thanks

I've got Fieldsheer mesh/textile pants. Can't remember the model right now. I bought them because they have the liner and would be good for summer and winter. Only problem is they don't do either very well. If I got new, I'd probably get one pair for summer and another for winter since mine are too baggy in summer, and too tight with the liner. They work well, just don't fit very well. Haven't tested the protection yet. I did the same thing on the jacket, but I'm too cheap to buy new.

I've crash tested the Buell Adventure pants - twice.

First time, over the bars and off to hospital with all sorts of damage, 5 months off work. The physio said my kneecaps had the most damage he had seen without breaking. Confirmation to me. (Insurance paid for the replacement padding.)

Second time, 100mph slide through asphalt, gravel, grass for football field width. Walk away with small bruise on side of knee (bruised elbow, broken rib but you were asking about the pants) and ride home. Confirmation to me. (No witnesses, I'll pay for the replacement padding.)

Summary: they're good, protection is good, good in summer (I ride when naked would still be too hot, parka would still be too cold). They're made by Joe Rocket, but better priced. (Probably their Atomic pants would be the closest.)

Me, I won't ride without something with armour and designed to slide. All the gear, all the time.

I have the Buell Adventure pants, they are hot in the summer, the vents help while ur rolling but that's about it. I bought mine big enough to put over close and ride to work. I haven't tried the protection part of the like Lamar but it sounds like they do a good job.

textile pants w/ sliders? Alpinestars makes a good set.

motorcycle superstore has them for ~$250-300

Went through the same thing and decided on the Scorpion Deuce Overpants. Got them for Christmas. Waiting to try them out. Really impressed with the quality.

...Waterproof liner adds warmth when you need it. Articulated armor in the knees and hips combines protection with ease of movement, and wide legs can be worn outside boots.

Black Bibs, walmart 45.oo! Warmth and protection. Never wrecked my street bikes, but plenty of spills on the quads and dirt bikes on gravel, pavement, grass and end up with small holes that are easily sewn up. My $0.02
