cough-Panigale-cough

Lol! Hence why I said arguably! I've actually read a couple reviews that presented a case of out performing! Having said that, we lays have to keep in mind the magazine, paid advertisements etc. But the fact that its always mentioned with the Penigale! It's a bad bitch LOADED with technology!

Im with two guns on this one ! I havent ridden the bmw but common i have ridden a bunch of bikes none with the character of my buell . Drove a gsxr 1000 a couple years back it was outstanding no compitition hands down the craziest thing ive ever kicked a leg over. But i found myself uncomfortable , speeding all the time and its just another plastic covered liquidcooled 4banger. As great a bike as it may be i just dont get off a 4cyl superbike with the same smile. Bottom line buell delivers a fun powerband you can use kinda obeying laws? But driving responsiblyand i just enjoy the aircooled vtwin nestalgic feel better . But hey if the bmw is more your style awsome im sure you will love it they are very high quality bikes, im sure you wont regret your decission im just bias i guess.

All I need now is for BMW motorcycles to be killed by corporate HQ and for dealers to eventually sell the remaining S1000RR inventory for $6K each and I'd step right up... Heh.

Maybe I'm biased, I bought my 984 new in 2003 and had it until 2011 November. I rode a ton of I4's and took them all home from auction as well as an 1125R and I felt the short comings on my Buell. As much character as my Buell had is was not 1/3 the bike of my Gixx 750 or ZX10R to me.

but thats it exactly. the short comings. you way up what you want from a bike and find a bike that suits as many as you can.

for me its good handling, fun, different, nice sound, conversation starter, as different as i can get without compromising too much on reliability and issues. top speed of 200 is fine as long as it gets off hte mark well.

see... for me the buell xb is hands down teh choice.

great example. police up one of our local roads over hte weekend, pulling over everybike as they headed that way to inspect and breath test. the lady and i on our buells. obvously non compliant with noise, blinker mods, reflector removal, short tail, wrong angle license plate, me with no rego label, and so forth... yet all they wanted to do was enquire about hte bike. the more we talked up their specialty and quirks, the more they liked them. they even commented on the nice sound. as it was out of hte 9 bikes lined up with us, only us and one standard scooter got away with no fines. the R1s, gsxr750 and ducatis x 3 and a s1000rr all got pinged. they didnt like us, and once we got to the halfway joint, even more were surprised by our get away, and still intrigued and looking over hte bikes.

our two buells get more looks than almost all the bikes on regular occasions! [smirk] and saying all that, yeah i like the quality of a s1000rr and even more the grunt and noise of a rsv4, but i know that i will be riding them too fast to enjoy them and bored of their look before hte first week was over. at least with oompah... she has 11 outfits and i change as i please. she was red on black yesterday, now blue, by next week she will be very different with her new transformation.

then you buy japanese or german, 300klm/h is not worries for them. anyone who buys or own buells are not chasing top speed.

i have a mate on a 2012 zx10r. easily do 300 plus on any weekend. only in the bends do i see him and even a lot of the time round him up, but open the road up a little and we never see him until we arrive at hte next stop. he is GONE! he is having fun i am sure, as but i am having just as much fun. scratching through corners is my fun. having to push my buell harder through corners to make up oportunity, or keep up, with higher powered bikes is my fun. running open speed limited straight roads, is not my fun.
