My buddy has a 2000 RC51. My 2009 1125cr is faster, but comparable bikes for sure. When I first started riding another friend had a brand new 2004 RC, at the time there wasn't much like it for the price. I love the black ones

wouldn't mind picking one up, they are pretty rare (for a jap bike)

I've actually seem a lot of RC51's for sale in the central texas area. usually around 3500-4500 price range. If i had the dough for a track bike that would be my first choice. even over a buell.

2000-TO-2006 is the only time they made those WONDERFULL, Machines. V-Twin w/ 128 hp to the rear wheel, Slap a power Commander AND a SATO twin/ exhaust and HELLO Momma! Easy to ride from N.C. to Daytona.Get I offers all the Time.NOOOO WaYYYY!Keep her in my eyesite when parked somewhere and I'm out on it.What am I saying I do this to ALL Bikes that I own OR ride.[cool]:D

I wish I had the coin for a second bike because I would love to have an rc51 even though that is the older style. There is two different RC51s the sp1 and the sp2. The sp2 is the one too have.

that link has info on the difference between the two different rc51s

The RC51 has always been my one Jap dream bike...If it was not for them I would only like american and European bikes.

Just don't tuck your elbows, because you'll get supercharger belt burn! ;) Is sick loking though!

Jimijeans, you in NC? I's up in Raleigh!

Ummm, I see a turbo AND a supercharger!?!?

yeah Mike, its a supercharged turbo, the supercharger which runs mechanically is always charged instantly while the turbo may be too big for the exhaust output is charged partially by the supercharger+exhaust= more&quicker spin......

I had an RC51 for a time. I love the whirring sound of the gear driven valve train. The gears are all straight cut. I put Sato banzai exhaust on it. I could knock the tools off the walls in my garage with a few blips. I'd own another in a heartbeat.

I own 3 TLRs and have owened quite a few and built a few also.

I don't care for the looks of the RC

My most recent TLR build from a heap of parts:

i liked both of them but the only one i would want now is the rc51. had a sv650s and the tl is a bigger/faster version of it. the rc has a different and better look in my opinion.front end has a aggressive dont f@!k with me look. one of the (ill never get bikes) for me. but then now, im leaning towards a supermotard for the stable.:D

The RC51 was the first V-Twin Sportbike I saw/heard when I started riding. I wanted to get my FZR600 to sound like that bike. I was in love with the V-Twin Sport sound. The RC51 is on my list to own. To bad it's about as comfortable as sitting on a bed of spikes. That's the only reason it's not high on my list.
