I have now injector pulse. I did a diagnostics test on the injectors with ecmspy and you could hear them working under the test. But when I crank it over with a test light on the injector plug there is no pulse. I'm thinking the ECM got jammed.

Does anybody have any different ideas of what might be wrong?

Does anybody have a ECM they are selling

Thanks Josh

Never had a problem before. Rode it over to a friends and when I went to leave it wouldnt start and hasnt since. It was running just fine before I turned it off. With a shot of starting fluid it starts right up for a few seconds(basically till it runs out of starting fluid).

Not to sound obvious or insult your intelligence...but have you checked all connections etc...retried loading ecmspy? Maybe running the daignostics again? Did anything funny happen while you were running ecmspy: pc power down, turn the bike off and on, ect?

Any other stuff you think could have been at fault?

Jon

NOO its not the fuel pump!!! Its running at 45psi!!!!!

Ive checked and double checked all the connections and ecmspy wasnt even on the bike when this all started. It had a twin tech tuner on it b4 and it was connected properly. I took it off wondering if it was the problem but it obviously wasnt. And there was never any interruptions when running ecmspy. Ive ran the diagnostics several times.

Does anyone have a stock ecm for sale.

so yes you have spark and tach works.im an auto tech.99% of the time if you can activate something through a scan tool the ecm is good.did you hook up the test light with the clip on one side of the connector and the probe to the other or to the battery ground.most systems use the ground side to activate injectors and power is constant.also i have a stock ecm but i dont want to sell it i would loan it.with conditions.its for an 09 xb12.also fuel specs for 07,08,09 are 49-51 psi. some vechicles will start on low pressure and some wont even if its a couple pounds low.did you get gas right before this?

The fuel pressure was in the high 40's if I remember right, it was in the ok range for sure. I tested the injectors the way you just described. No I didnt just get gas, it was on a 1/3 tank according to mileage when this all happened and yes I have filled it up to cancel the possibility of it being out of gas. The bike is a 03 XB9R so im not sure if your ecm would work if I did borrow it.

What could cause no injector pulse but it works during diagnostics?

ecm wont work.since its an 03 my manual dosnt help much.in order for a distributor less engine to produce spark and pulse it needs a refrence from crank or cam sensor or both my 09 only has crank if yours only has one sensor and has spark then that settles that.the only other thing i can think of is that if an ecm detects high tps voltage wich it will read as a clear flood condition at idle or not running it will shut off injectors on some systems.and thats about all i have.have you tried emailing ebr.sorry i couldnt help more.

Problem still persists, bought another ecm from a fellow member and same thing, No Injector Pulse.

Are there any saftey sensors that cut pulse? Like the clutch or kickstand?

Unplugged tps and tried to start it... Same deal.

p.s. Bike has been down all season. Someone please help me!

hook up ecmspy unplug injectors, hook test light to each injector and activate injectors and make sure each one pulses.

There are two switches, one for kickstand and clutch. Unplug clutch one and ground out the kickstand one and see what happens. Just my .02

Just got off the phone with a service guy at the dealership and he said all the safety switches, like kickstand and clutch, cut spark not fuel so they wouldnt have anything to do with injector pulse. He says must be wiring or ecm...

Also I used ecmspy to activate the injectors and you can clearly hear them clicking as well as the test light showing they are getting power...

So how about cam pos. sensor? Anything to do with injector pulse?

mine has a crank sensor that will shut down spark and pulse if it goes out not sure on an 03.
