Mustang v6 ~ Buell Blast

Careful careful. Walking on thin ice....JK:D

I like mustangs even though a lot of people don't.

My dad had a 91 gt 5.0 and that thing was cool. I remember when he test drove it and I was in the passenger seat we were doing donuts in the middle of the highway. That was def. a highlight of my childhood. And the reason there are so many is because they never stopped making them like others didi.e. camaro, charger, challenger, etc.

I love muscle cars either way[cool]

Lol that was best quick comp I could come up with. Sorry Blast owners but you have a auto v6 Mustang. :D

My sister in law has an 06 mustang and I can't stand it. Sloppy as hell handling wise. And the v6 motor just doesn't feel too sharp.

With that money, you could find a nice BMW 3 or 5 series, a nice E or S class Mercedes. Or even a twin turbo A6. These are all cars that outclass a newer mustang for the same price. (I don't hold anything against the Foxbodies, Eleanors, or Mach 1.)

But anyway, good luck to you! Stay away from the scammers..

v-6 roushes

I think that's an oxymoron...

They are still only a 300 hp v6. My wife and I have owned 2 350z's first one was a 03 Track and it was 287hp in 2003. Now we have a 2006 and it is 300 hp. What im saying is the new v6 should have been that way long ago they are behind and all the Ford junkies think its some amzing feat, it is where it should have been almost 10 years ago.

Keep in mind there's a huge price difference between the cars you are comparing.

I agree the older ford v6 sucked. Not only was it a dog but it guzzled gas too. Reliability was decent I guess though...

06 Nissan 350z Track MSRP:$34,550. 06 Mustang V6 MSRP:$19,115. How are these two brought up in comparison? They were never competing with each other and the price point is still considerably different.

I wasnt talking about price I was talking about performance. The mustang is a pos.

I never brought up price and was only pointing out the performance of each v6.

And a base 2006 350z base could be had for 25k in 2006. Not much difference in price.

It's like comparing a stock 1997 mustang 4.6L(2XX hp) to a new corvette z06(505ish hp). Yes they are both v8's, but one is a "POS" and the other is awesome. Totally different cars, you can't compare them.

Of course the nissan v6 is a better performer than the old mustang v6(which was also designed WAY before the nissan engine)...

Jerry who? [confused]

BTW, I love the Blast. Have owned one before and plan to get another. It's called humor dude [smirk]

I don't know, my old roommate had a 350z and it was ok but I wasn't impressed. Especially once I found out what they cost. It's impractical, expensive, and not that fast. The only thing I found really justified about it was that it handled great and braked pretty good.

She had a CAI and exhaust and thought it was fast but my buddy's stock LS1 camaro blew it away and he paid $12k for that car and it was like 7 years old. Sure there is some quality difference there, I'll agree(even though I like GM), but the camaro was waaay faster, looked better, had a back seat(not very usable, but it was there), and it handled and braked decent as well.

Hey I'll sell you my notch for $9000

Edit by the way it doesn't have heat or ac and gets about 9gpm

Haha jk

Say, what octane is recommended for that VQ? How about the Ford 3.7? Apples and oranges. It is like comparing a UJM 4 cyl bike to an XB.

V8 to V6 comparison not equal.

3.5 - 3.7/3.8/4.0l equal comparison.

JW who compared a v8 to v6?

EDIT: Oh nm your talking about the camaro.

It's all relative. I could compare my ~350hp 287cid v8 in my truck to a less than 200hp stock ford 289cid v8, but they are totally different technology and totally different engines. Just like the ford v6 and nissan v6. The ford engine has poor flowing heads and basically no real technology or performance in it. It's a low budget base model engine.

Any way, doesn't really matter, I don't think the OP is looking for performance but a good car.

Oh and just gotta through this in there....his LS1 camaro got better gas mileage than the 350z as well, even being an automatic. 30mpg hwy isn't bad for a 5.7L. I think it did like low to mid 20's mpg city. Then he modded it and that all went to hell.
