Only have 14k on the bike, but the front left strut is seeping. gah. Getting irritated with my new 1125 purchase.. Wishing I went XB... almost.

Before you pull it apart try one of those "seal mate" the really thin shaped pieces of plastic you can buy online, they remove any dust or dirt caught in the seal which can cause weeping! really cheap and heard good things about them! www.sealmate.net

good call tone. go to ebay...type in seal mate in search window top of any page. about $4 and free USA shipping. found that they actually work in at least 1/2 of attempts made. follow the simple instructions AND.....go to any auto parts store and buy a bottle of trans or power steering fluid that contains "seal swell" or "stop leak" additive. only smallest bottle required. on the last swipe with the seal-mate dip it into that fluid and run it in between seal and tube. will help with refreshing the seal material.

lunatic you are the man!

Hey, my XB right fork was leaking with 7k miles on it when I bought it. I believe mine was due to the owner never washing it and the brake dust on that side ruined the seal.
thanks much for the kind words tone. shawn: probably 80% of these weeping seals are brake side only. precisely from the reason you mentioned.

you can also use a old film negative if you can find one now a days, just trim the end into a slight rounded edge so it slides in easy.

I came here to post the 35mm film trick haha^^^

If you use anything to make the seal swell, it also makes them softer which will shorten their lifespan. Not a big deal if you're gonna swap them soon anyway.

Ive had to rebuild the front forks on both my 1125's probably could have done the trick above but trailed them nearly 8 hours so lost tons of fluid. Anyway, if you do need to rebuild the front forks its not difficult at all ive used oem buell seals and all balls seals and both have held up great so far.

You can make your own 'Sealmate' by cutting up a milk or juice plastic jug. When the seal on my XB started weeping, I did it and it fixed the problem. Worst case is it doesn't work and you are back to having to do a replacement.
