does anyone own one or has anyone tried one? since i shattered my bell vortex last spring ive been using my older icon alliance and have been starring at the shoei rf1100 for a couple months now. Finally pulled the trigger and bought one and im waiting for it to come in.

Just curious to see if anyone on here has any positive/ negative reviews.

I've had one for a couple years now.
Replaced my RF-1000 with it as soon as they came out.

Good airflow, feels "lighter" when wearing it. Flat black looks awesome! Has helmet speaker cutouts (normally don't listen while I ride, but when I'm on call for work it's great to let me know I'm getting a call versus not feeling it in my pocket )

Only issue is the little tab that holds the screen slightly open, doesn't hold real well.

The RF-1000 would hold it barely open pretty good. This one only cracks one side and its not enough. If I'm on a long ride ill ball up a tiny piece of paper to put in the holding mechanism to keep the other side slightly cracked open too.

But over, great helmet!!

I started with an RF-1100 I was borrowing from a buddy who had no need for it since his bike had been stolen. Nice light helmet. I ended up buying an Arai RX-Q for myself when I returned the RF-1100 to my buddy. The Arai has significantly less wind noise compared to the Shoei. The padding also seems to contour to my head more securely. This is a plus or a minus depending on how claustrophobic you are.

I have a Shoei Qwest and love it. I kind of kick myself for not saving a little more and getting the 1100, the emergency check pad removal is a great safety feature. As long the head shape fits you properly, you'll love the 1100. What color/design did you get?

I got a solid gloss black. I have flat black on my alliance but it just shows too much oils from your skin and all that. They do look badass tho.

Ive never owned a shoei so im hoping its a good fit. Im used to the windnoise, ive never had anything that prevents it so im not too worried about that.
