I found an 08 stater and rotor for my 1125 and im wondering is it a permanent fix for the charging issue on my 09 CR if I buy them and swap them into my bike when my stater fails? I know ill have to get the voltage regulator as well but I want to get some opinions first before I spend the money on the parts, other than the custom rewind is this the only "real" fix to the issue? and should I go this rout or I plan on getting an extended warrenty, should I just get the warrenty and not worry about the charging issue since it will be covered?

And all I need are the stater, rotor, and vr? Do I need the charging harness as well or is it all pretty much plug and play? Im gonna place the order on Friday so I just want to make sure it's worth the effort.

The charge harness is part of the vr or you can buy the f000 or the switching rr
And use the recall harness conectors.
Did u find a place to get 08 parts reasonable?
Custom rewind is trying a few things and I think they have a test bike ATM. But no sure fix yet.

Yeah I found them at a decent price and am gonna pick them up just to have if I need them for when the stator fails again, their off an 08 1125r with about 8100 miles on it that was wrecked and being sold for parts

the best thing to do and works is to have your stator rewind and tell them to use a higher gage wire and insulate it better you also need to have the regulator/rectifier upgraded there is a fella on this forum that sells them this is not a temp fix its perfect and works really well,MOST IMPORTANT IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR STATOR IS FIXED PROPERLY BY TELLING THEM WHAT I SAID ABOVE or it will fail, the charging system change from 08 to 09 was a weight and cost issuse and there is some 08 models out there starting to fail i have seen 3 already, hope this helps

I just picked up the '09 model and just turned over 1000 miles. Got it with 95 miles, can one of you in the know lay out the definitive answer and cost to upgrade and forget about it. Sounds like a good winter project.

Not sure anyone here sells r/r's but i posted a good link.
The thick gauge wire rewind is still not a defintive repair. highest miles one is only 5k and my first stock stator made 10k
Rewind $150
better switching r/r $150

2008 rotor and stator roughly $700 new.
A few poeple have managed to get there dealers to put 08 parts on under warrenty...
The larger stator was because 2008 modles had batterys that kept going dead over night. it turned out to be the cluster had a parsitic draw.

we aren't the only ones suffring to the burned stator issue and i am dissapointed that brp rotax isn't helping us apprilla with rotax engine are failing to just not as many (likely to do with lower production numbers and sales).
