Has anyone had any success in finding alternatives to the stock shoulder screws and body washers? I've looked at local hardware stores and found nothing. The shoulder screws they have are cap screws / hex head and no button heads, also the shoulder is too long. The washers are also a no go finding one that works.

They're security screws though, they have a pin in the middle so if you get them, make sure to get the tool for it also.

Found this set, it's got just about every size you can imagine for security pin screws.

thanks, those are reasonable prices compared to buying from HD, think I have a bit set for those types of screws

phenomenal amount of hardware at this joint in south jersey. have had a dealer acct. with them for years and prices are excellent. just as a reminder on the XB models....if you lose 1 or more of the chin fairing shoulder screws and/or airbox cover screws you can rob same from the air box base plate and substitute cheapos in their place.

Don't forget about Paul and Jeff. They can sell you used ones from their part-outs for way cheaper than HD or probably these other options. At least I think they have been...

Shoulder screws: two different sizes...
chin fairing and fender...CA0012.02A8 $5.02 ea.
airbox ...CA0018.02A8 $4.82 ea.

Cheapest prices for OEM shoulder screws at newcastlehd.com, ASB is a dollar more, but only carry one size. so, from the links that d adams posted, those are by far the best prices.
