So what can i expect from my new buell?

Can you just put the pin in the kickstand? I'm seeing that the '03 needs a new "s plate" but no one has pictures of how or why.... and I'll be damned to pay $120 for the kit from asb..... I'll laser something out and machine a pin.....

Buy a kickstand off a later model and then drill it and put the pin in it. You will also have to bypass the kickstand switch. The pin costs like $11 from HD and you can probably get a used kickstand relatively cheap.

That still has the hex head on the pin though isn't that the style that needs replaced?

haha well i'm still not even sure really what needs to be replaced or why. All i know is that mine works...for now...

From the research I've done that is the new style kick stand but still has the old pin in it. The s part is what is needed to covert the 03's to use the new pin..... if I could get some dimensions I might be able to make a program and have some laser cut at work so use on the old style kickstand with new pin and not spend the $120 on the upgrade kit.

yes but you can drill that style kickstand out for the $11 pin. I'm not sure you can drill the 03 style out for the pin...

I wouldn't pay $55 for a kickstand though, should be able to get the upgrade done cheaper.

I'm gonna see if I make something before I buy anything..... I have cnc mills lathes and laser cutters at my disposal at work.... I just have to make the program and run one..... only problem is if I cant get dimensions I'll have to trail and error til it fits correctly......

Waiting you guys see the exhaust I have planned for it....... gonna be a reverse system with a keda/d&d style muffler..... and the belly cowl is staying...... anyone want a stainless ebr race pipe in like brand new condition ???????

I find that the front brake is really strong so always treat it with respect. Also don't pop the clutch at a stop light. I accidentally raised my front wheel doing that - unless you are the wheelie type!

No I'm not the wheelie type and so you guys are saying the brakes are extremely strong? One of the guys I work with rides an r6 and says do not touch the brakes at all in a turn or I'll be sorry cause it will make the bike high side instantly. Is this true?

Thats not entirely true. Applying the brakes moderately in a turn cause the bike to stand up, thus resulting in a high side being very likely, a hard grab of the brakes can also cause a high side. Greasy pretty sure you read through my riding technique/style thread, you should read through again as well as download a copy of twist of the wrist. Its helped me so much

And edit of my last post, grabbing the brakes hard in a turn can result in a "low side" i mis typed what i meant to say.
