are these current trouble codes or the stored ones?? i haven't been able to find enough info on the difference in the two?

are these current trouble codes or the stored ones??

hard to tell without ecmspy disconnect the battery or perform the 50 key cycles and check again if they come back they are current

that was going to be my next step, im thinking the 16 is due to my old battery (just replaced yesterday, was clicking in the larry the cable guy video), and the 21 i have no clue, ive had the jardine pipe on forever and never thrown the engine light.....................

and what is it

start engine, let run for thirty seconds

repeat 50 times??

yes,its a pain but if they are stored and the problem isnt present now that will clear the codes per the manual.battery disconnect may not clear all stored codes but its easier

ok just to clarify

key off---turn to run, start engine, let run 30 seconds, kill motorcycle, TURN KEY BACK TO OFF?

then repeat

yes

To be honest if your engine light is not on while your riding I wouldnt worry about it. I had mine come on for a split second one day and it said it was the o2 sensor......since that day it has never come back on and I didnt clear the code.......bike runs like a champ.

Ya it stayed on for a 30 min hwy ride and that's why I was concerned. I was doing clearing the codes but lost count so ill try again another time. I'm convinced it was my old battery though obviously. I went and rode 30 miles though just now with no check engine light at all. So those are obviously stored codes
