Hey guys...been reading up a bit on this forum, Havent seen a lot of others...the format here is not very friendly but the people seem to be. :)

I will be getting my 04 black XB12s on Saturday if all goes well. Its bone stock with 6k on it. Need to order some bar end mirrors off Ebay and maybe a trimmed rear section. but other than that, I will leave it mostly stock. Looking VERY forward to owning and riding it and getting to know you all!

Nice! One suggestion if I may. Even though bar end mirrors on ebay are WAY cheaper than through some sites...might I suggest a different route. I looked forever for mirrors that looked good and worked well. I finaly came upon THIRD EYE bar end mirrors. They are made for bicycles but work really well for motorcycles. They are rock solid, look better than most mirrors made for motorcycles, and cost me $15. And if you go down...cost $15 to replace(or $7.50 if you consider you are only replacing one side). I can't access pics of my bike now...but if you want, when i get home could post some. Just a suggestion. Congrats anyway!

Here is my XB12S w/bar end mirrors...got from E-bay...love them.

I got it finally...after a long trip to arkansas and back. :)

Its a pretty cool bike. Really having to make adjustments to the riding position and peg position. I have owned a couple of Road Star Warriors in the past and this is TOTALLY different.

I think I might need to change the plugs or get it tuned up, its very difficult to ride smoothly. Seems very "jerky" and not smooth? or is that a trait of this bike?

I love the looks...just trying to adjust to the handling and positioning of everything now. lol.

Dont baby the rpm's, if your used to a cruiser well.... These bikes arent made to run at low rpm's like your previous bikes. Low speeds and below 3k dont go so well with the Buells. I found that when im just cruising at maybe 50mph or so, I'll sometimes go into 5th whiich will drop the RPM's down to about 3k-ish. I dont seem to have any problems with the bike being "jerky" then, only at 3k-ish and below when I dont have any speed going :D:D:D Enjoy!!!!

the jerky-ness is because you have alot of power available at any rpm, so only a twitch of the throttle will give you a nice kick in the butt.

but low speed & low rpm's doesn't give you the best airflow and thus not the best burning process. this could also be the cause to the feel you are having.

what improves this is an ecm mapping, open airfilter, breather re-route.

a good way to treat your bike is getting it nice and warm...10 minutes of riding below 3500rpm with soft acceleration. after that she's all yours! ;)

Well it mostly concerns me in neighborhoods and such..trying to drive through at a good speed rather than flying through. It might get better with some riding time...its been sitting for a while before I purchased it.

I am used the the torque and power at any rpm..my Stage IV Warrior would DESTROY this bike at any rpm range and power wise. So That is def. not what I am dealing with lol.

THanks for the info and your thoughts on it guys...keep the info coming.
Dave

if it's been sitting a while, it's best that you change all oils, filter, plugs...just give it a general service, than it should run smoother already ;)

you don't have to ride like a maniac in a residential area. the bike is made for the street so it is able to handle slow cruising...mine does.

you will get used to it...you are dealing with an American Hot Rod Motorcycle. they are all a little moody from time to time....

I would highly beg to differ on this one. There is no way any cruiser would smoke a Buell. Not a chance of that happening ever. I don't care if it has 150+hp it won't smoke it. It might have the hp but it also has the 800lb weight to go along with it. The only cruiser that would beat a Buell is a Yamaha VMax.

dan you can differ all you like broh.. I know where the bike is located and rode it for 2 years. I can find out how badly it would get owned any day I choose. Its not even a close race. Do you know what a Warrior is?? much less a stage IV warrior? they dont weigh 800 lbs. they weigh just under 600 lbs.

Or better yet..go find a stock warrior and pick on it, after you get beat...providing they can ride..come tell me I was right. ;)

WOW dave where did the love go? we all own buells we all love buells here, and there are all different riders here so if you havent ever ridin with that man be careful. show some love. :eek:CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG:eek:

be easy
